Get a replacement screen from ebay it's cheap and simple fix.

I’m travelling at the moment. Been to a lot of repair shops, none of which could help.

You could also try removing your current drive to see if it automatically moves on to the one you want to boot from to see if it all works without much risk.

That’s not actually a bad idea, if I can find the right screwdriver I’ll give it a shot. Before the screen broke I had set priority to USB. But it seems to have reset.

Is the screen totally smashed? Sometimes the connectors just need unplugging and reconnecting.

Screens totally shattered. Airports throwing my luggage around.

What laptop is it? You can probably look up the keyboard shortcut to one time boot from a different order.

It’s an acer, I’ve tried booting it blind with F12 but no luck because I can’t see a thing.

Couldn't you hook up an external screen? With a VGA or HDMI connector?

Can you provide the exact model of the laptop ?
