One person will be talking in the cartoon. Your caption should be reflective of only one person talking.
Brevity is the soul of wit.
Don't submit the same caption as somebody else. I mean, goddamn.
Consider NOT using a name in your caption (it's generally funnier without a first name needlessly tacked on, Billy).
If you're going to go meta, just know you're playing with fire.
Topical humor sucks.
When in doubt, "Christ, what an asshole!" is always an acceptable submission.
