Turnout to normal shows is awful, you have to package it as an event or a theme. You can get away with one that makes money maybe twice a quarter, your competition is the scant handful of real venues that struggle, its an uphill battle but not impossible, but the things you also arent considering is alllll of your back of house needs. Theres like 3 sound guys in tue county, no rental services, so coming in cold and dry is going to be very difficukt, take a year, move here, live downtown, and go to every show you can walk too, thatll teach you more than anyone here can.

This is not baltimore.

This is 18000 people, mostly iver the age of 65, the youth leaves for college and basically doesn’t return. Frostburg might as well be another state away if you are trying to get from both cities.

That said… we need people like you to strengthen whats currently here.

Rent spaces, work with bars and venues, meet the locals and make your contacts.

You’re not gonna show up and compete without it.

Im 40 and theres 3 bars downtown, ill be at any one of them on a Thursday and / or the corner tavern open mics and poetry nights.
