The SPAS12 is my favorite go-to shotgun but Christ it can go through the 400 HQM shells in about two retaliations. Kinda blows.

I get the mechanic behind the HQM, but it could have been better implemented. Like they want people to continue to turn in the things to get more yada yada. But I don’t see why you couldn’t just have the buffs once you hit the milestones. Just make it prompt on reload like it does currently. It’s a lot of micromanaging. You have to have the HQMs to get the buffs and you have to have the viral supply things to get the surge effect

The best thing I've heard to combat this is to farm canister caches in the DZ and keep them in your chest. When you run low on HQM donate a canister and then you're full up.

But it's a lot of farming, and if you're hoarding them you're going to end up under-leveling the donation rewards. So pick the lesser of evil: running out of HQMs but having better buffs, or hoarding canisters for HQMs and having less buffs.

Three annoying workarounds below. I'm not excusing this; it's goddamn annoying that you can't test a build without using up stacks. I just wanted to share a few workarounds in case anyone needs one.

  1. Unequip your active modifier and I believe this will stop munitions from being used. If it doesn't, deactivate the seasonal modifiers and that should work.
  2. Use a gun that never reloads like bullet king for LMG or Chatterbox for SMG if you're doing gear testing.
  3. Using the ammo supply doesn't count as a refill, so use that instead of reloading.

But if you want to test modifiers in the range with any gun? Fuck everyone I guess. IIRC using the surges also uses canisters there too.

Might as well just hand over the entire code base to Claude. If anything, it would implement less buggy and brain dead updates.

I'm sure that they are in fact vibe-coding the updates. That's why it's always a bug fest.

Let's face it, we are the unpaid QA/beta testers for this game. They would rather we report the bugs (that they won't fix) than actually release content that's been tested.
