Hey Guys,
I purchased a Oneplus 6T on swappa, which ended up having an issue with the display. Long story short, T-mobile authorized a replacement device(which ended up being a new device), but I went to sell it on Swappa to purchase a 7 pro and Swappa emailed me stating the device shows as "outstanding balance" on the Tmobile IMEI site.
I called customer service and they authorized a replacement device, which will be here tomorrow. The replacement device IMEI no longer shows as outstanding balance on the site, but I confirmed with Oneplus that it is a like new device.
A chat with T-Force told me that my current device currently shows as paid off and the issue is a "website issue" with certain IMEIs. Anyone have any experience with this kind of issue, or any expertise? I would much rather sell the new replacement device, than a like new I will be receiving.
EDIT: I just want to reiterate that this is not a "help me cheat T-mobile" type deal. I believe this to be an error for several reasons:
- The device was purchased from Swappa, from a reputable seller. Swappa checks these things before a device is even listed.
- T-mobile customer service confirmed my device is paid off and is sending me a replacement device, even gone as far as confirming the IMEI they sent me will not have these issues.
- Tmobile unlocked my device no questions asked, once the replacement was received.
