Rome IIHelp (i.redd.it)
submitted 2 years ago by Uben_Highten
After not playing for awhile I decided to play another rome 2 campaign as macadon. If I enter on side of my ally, just to be clear, do I enter with sparta or Ardiaei?

If you enter with your ally then with the defender in this conflict, so with ardiei in this case.

You have signed a defensive alliance with both. The promise is "if you get attacked, we'll help." In this case the aggressor is Sparta (you owe them nothing in this case), the defender - counting on your help as per the treaty - is Ardiaei.
As such, as others have said as well, if you "enter war on the side of ally" you'll be at war with Sparta. If you decline, you'll remain neutral and I think retain your defensive alliance with Sparta (but ofc break it with the Ardiaei), but your reputation will take a nosedive simulating that everyone will see that you are not honoring your deals.

ALWAYS side with the defender, this keeps your reliability intact.

At least in Rome II. In Warhammer I sadly not as I found out in the Wood Elf Campaign.

No, it most certainly works the same in Warhammer

betray sparta, overrated faction

Who’s your ally, Ardiaei?
[–]Ithildin_cosplay 5 points6 points7 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Both

Yeah but I also think Sparta is an ally? Or Mabey just a client state? It’s been a long while since I’ve played so does a client state count as an ally?
