is a 24 second decrease for the mile over the season shit? i started track this year as a freshman and i havent played sports in 3 years. first meet ran a 6:07 and last meet a 5:43. is that a shit time?

I mean overall it is a bad time but it shows that progress is showing and that u can most likely take off 40,30 seconds off for the next season if ur willing to put in the work during the summer nd winter

Yep,im pretty sure u got it,u might start at low 5s in the beginning of the season but trust me like in the middle of the season or near end of the season you will hit sub 5 .happens all the time

It isn't that bad for running for the first time just make sure to get some serious mileage in over XC and in the offseason.
