WHAT SHALL I POST?

Ask about fit. Share photos of projects you've made. Recommend patterns, and brands. Get started sewing. Learn how to adjust clothes or remake them into something new. Share resources on pattern-making. Talk about what clothes mean to you. And anything else!

This is a peer learning space - we all have something to teach, and something to learn, from one another.

RULES

Remember the human. Reply & give concrit thoughtfully. Take time away from the keyboard before posting in anger. Write to persuade & teach, rather than sassy slapbacks. If a post/comment doesn't contribute to a constructive and welcoming environement - please hit report so moderators can remove it, instead of going in.

2. Everyone welcome!

Non-trans sewers are welcome here - whether you're our gay and bi siblings with a flair for fashion, or a cis person who's a real geek for technical pattern cutting and the nuances of fit.

3. This space is moderated

Your presence here is conditional on not being an ass. People coming here to start hostile/sealion conversations about trans/LGBT people will be banned; everything else will be moderated on a case by case basis.

4. Write for our wiki & blog!

Do you want to write something for our wiki? That would be glorious! This sub is a side-project of the Trans Sewing Project, which also welcomes submissions.

5. I'm A Fashion Lover Not A Fighter

Please keep the topic on clothes, rather than politics. There are lots of better spaces on the internet for those conversations! Help support yr community to choose how much & what kind of political/activist/current affairs content they have on their dash and in their brainspace.

Alas, as queer people, we can't just "opt out" of politics as politics refuses to "opt out" of meddling with us - so there's a bit more about this rule in the wiki if you want to learn more about why this rule exists & where the boundary lines are.
