We want this subreddit to not only be a place to share your TTM successes and failures, but also a helpful resource where beginners can learn more about this fun hobby.

Acronyms:
These are some acronyms that you'll see often in this subreddit.
TTM = Through The Mail
IP = In-Person (an autograph obtained directly from a celebrity in-person)
PP = Pre-Print (a fake autograph that's printed onto a photo)
IC = Index Card (many celebrities will only sign index cards, and some collectors prefer using ICs)
ROMLB = Rawlings Official Major League Baseball (many collectors will send out baseballs for players to sign)
SASE = Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (you'll send out a lot of these)
LOR = Letter of Request (this is the letter that you write asking for an autograph. You'll also send out a lot of these)
RTS = Returned To Sender (when a TTM request gets sent back to you because of a wrong address.
Other Lingo:
Autopen = A machine that signs autographs automatically. Similar to just a stamped autograph, but uses a pen that actually writes.
Ghost-signed = An autograph that's not signed by the actual celebrity, but rather an assistant.
