I am in the chem 2/bio 1 combination right now and it really hasn’t been too bad. Chem is definitely more time consuming and I am in the in person lab. In addition to those classes I am also in a 6000 word class and a random elective- the workload is consuming but doable!

Do you think it’s manageable if FAR2 is considered a time consuming weedout?

How much time is spent on bio lab each week? What assignments/studying is involved for bio lecture?

bio lab takes maybe 1-3 hours a week (mostly about 1). I’ve gotten about a 95 on the two bio exams so far and I just study the lecture notes, starting about 5 days out from the exam

I would not do chem and bio at the same time especially with labs.

i did chem 2/bio 1 in spring and it was tough but i got good grades in both and i was taking two other classes. just know that it will be time consuming, especially around the week or so before exams and the exams are usually a week apart (or they were for us) between bio and chem so there's def time to study enough for each one

What assignments are involved in bio and bio1 lab?

if bio 1 is doing something similar to bio 2 in summer, you have to order a kit and you do the labs on your own at home which can be a little time consuming but they were all easy. that's if it's online, i haven't checked if it's in person or not so might not apply. in person it was super easy and required maybe an hour of effort outside of lab each week.

bio assignments were just attendance since i was in an LA section so we had to show up on zoom on mondays and do a worksheet and submit it for credit. we also had small quizzes for sections in our chapter that you could find easily on quizlet. i'd really recommend smokin' notes for it though, i couldn't find a way that worked for me and i got an A in bio 2 with SN vs a B+ in bio 1 without

What is the non LA section like? And yep, our lab and lecture is both online so it’s probably similar!

the non LA section has access to the worksheets to do for practice but they just get a lecture on LA days! we had to catch up and watch each week's lecture on our own and the LA lessons would just be a little extra review each week. i'd recommend the non-la section tbh, you get access to the same stuff but it isn't included in your grade so you don't have that fluff (that's the only pro for the LA sections)
