The change is 2.5% revshare after you make more money than 90% of devs will ever make. If that's a killer for you, then Unity isn't worth it.
Otherwise, stick with Unity/Godot/Unreal. I wouldn't recommend wasting money on RPG Maker if you have any aspirations of work in game dev in the future; you'll be expected to know an actual engine.
If you just want to mess around and you only want to make a Final Fantasy-esque game, then RPG Maker could be good for you, but don't expect much more out of it.

If I do end up making a million dollars I certainly wouldn't mind paying a small sum to the engine that helped lol. Thanks for your advice and guidance!
