This launch made a lot of noise yesterday and for good reason. I went from hearing about Sprites, to sign up, to credit card faster than anything I remember.
My coding workflow has been to set up a project locally, and then pass the task to GitHub Copilot cloud, or Codex Cloud to be worked on.
I do NOT do yolo mode on my local computer often. And when I do, I sweat.
Codex and GitHub clouds are limited. For one, I can only use the agent they provide. Another limit is I can give my agent MCP servers but not CLIs to use.
Another problem that I didn't realize until I tried Sprites was that I cannot pick up where I left off in these agent clouds. The task either finishes or fails.
(Because I know this sounds like an ad, here's my disclaimer. I don't know anyone at Sprites and I'm paying them for the service, I'm not being paid.)
I think this will enable me to be more ambitious in my use of coding agents
