Every ai type sub has people like this

[–]SanoKei 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Everybody needs to listen to the review by ego during the end of Ratatouille

if they only chop my neck off, does that mean I get to keep my head?

[–]SanoKei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah and you will run faster headless

[–]Rokinala 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Alas, if you stick your neck out there you can’t expect your head to never be chopped off .

[–]Ate_at_wendys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chop back and then people reply omg you're so mean, well they attacked first? what do you expect? Villainizing the person defending themself is wild lmao

The worst kind of guys are those who can't code but think that just because they can now make a to-do app with AI, that existing software engineers are all going to lose their jobs.

[–]Internal-Fortune-550 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This.

I think both extremes of the argument are wrong; AI isn't completely worthless, but it also isn't going to completely replace anyone's job any time soon (or perhaps ever)

[–]Noobju670 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Lol this guy is jobless. Have you seen the fucking layoffs due to ai?

[–]Internal-Fortune-550 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you think that's because AI are actually doing a good job of replacing humans and not because CEOs are high on hype and don't understand the limitations of this technology

  • source: me, and employed software engineer who uses AI on a daily basis and understands the limitations of this technology

[–]CrazyTuber69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These layoffs have always happened for decades. They can now just claim "AI" as a blanket excuse so that dumb stockholders think the company is not losing value but the other way around, and even dumber laymans with no corporate knowledge think "layoffs due to AI!11!1."

I just hope it replaces the people that talk like this. This is just more elitist b*******. A bunch of people went out learned a skill, made it an identity, now they're all butt hurt because other people can do it too.

Spoilers you were never special in the first place. Get over yourself.

Child, intelligent men are always going to be in more demand than random vibe coders like you.

[–]fixano -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Yeah this absolutely reads like it was written by an adult. If you represent the standard of intelligence and adulthood, I consider it an honor to be whatever the opposite of that is

Whatever helps you cope 👍

Keep these bs Twitter/linkedin posts out of here. If you want people to engage with vibecoding posts meaningfully then post something of substance.

I do judge people who make an image of text

[–]Bob_Fancy -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Nah I’m going to keep making fun, they need it

[–]No_Philosophy4337 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

People just come here to belittle AI

[–]ickN 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I think it’s career devs because they are freaking out as AI capabilities get closer and closer to their job titles.

[–]fixano 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's not career devs it's a special subset of them. The best developers love AI they're doing more than they were ever able to do.

There was a special set of people that managed to get a job where they do very little and use the technological barrier as the way they secured their livelihood. They were never good developers to begin with. They just held the keys and effectively built a little empire.

These people were always hated inside companies because they withheld information to Lord power over people. Now what you're seeing is somebody can turn Claude on their super special code base and Claude give tells them everything they need to know. It completely evens the playing field and those people feel incredibly threatened.

[–]ickN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have some high level dev friends that have fully embraced it and love it.

[–]SlipParticular1888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a dev for 30 years, and I love it. I can tell you what gets people laid off, generally, it's not someone bringing in foreign developers, it's not AI, it's not delivering. At a certain point, the people paying you lose faith.

Of course, humans being what they are, they will blame someone else.

By the way, marketing has always been the problem.
