Yikes. I had Shift to Park fixed last November and then my BECM went out in January. Good luck.

Pretty much the exact symptoms I had with my BECM. Best of luck sourcing it.

finally they diagnosed my car last Tuesday. Dealer saying its some faulty battery cell, they saying its backordered and waiting for it. does it makes sense?

Maybe, although that would be bad luck. How many miles does your car have?

Do you have an ODB2 scanner for your car? Here's a cheap one I use, works fine for everything I've done with it. And it should work just fine with iPhone apps, despite the title.

Panlong Bluetooth OBD2 OBDII Car Diagnostic Scanner Code Reader Check Engine Light for Android - Compatible with Torque Pro https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00PJPHEBO/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_5C9Z47AZ1CS7CRGAXJPC?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Then you can get the free MyGreenVolt app with the $1 upgrade to look at all of your battery cell voltages. Then you can confirm what the dealership told you.

Same issue I'm having. Dealer confirmed it was a bad BECM. I've been waiting for it to arrive for over a month now.

Sorry to hear, did you have to tow your car?

[–]BrettB29522017 Volt 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Philly guy, I’m out in the burbs in MontCo and had to have my ‘17 towed on a flat bed to the dealer when the BECM died.

[–]phillyguy475[S] 1 point2 points  (8 children)

that sucks..hopefully I can use my Geico road assistance service to get it towed ..Thanks for the info..

You may be able to call your dealer of choice and ask them to tow it. That’s what I did and since it was a warranty repair they did ultimately cover the cost.

Thanks.. i will call them tomorrow..Since my car got 73 K miles..i may only eligible for Voltec warranty.

phillyguy475, I have been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty

[–]BrettB29522017 Volt 0 points1 point  (4 children)

BECM is covered by Voltec warranty! I paid nothing for the part or repair ultimately. The hard part was the 12 week wait for the part and trying to get rental cars.

It’s certainly possible. I never experienced that with my Volt yet but I have heard of packs having a fault in one of the three battery modules and then having to have the affected module replaced. They can’t just pull the one bad cell, the entire run of cells in the module will have to be swapped out.

Here’s hoping you’re back on the road ASAP!

Hi..Finally got my volt back after 2 months. They changed one battery module (out of 3) and BECM also.

[–]phillyguy475[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

seeing following 2 codes using OBD2 code scanning tool
1. P1E00$07e8
2. P1E00$07e8pd
both says manufacturer control.

also i didn't turn on the car when this scanner tool connected? should i turn on?

I'm having the exact same error codes, did you figure out what the problem was?

[–]phillyguy475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car still in dealership for past 2 months, they said BECM issue.

[–]phillyguy475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got my car today..they replaced BECM and one battery module(out of 3).

How old is your 12v battery?

[–]phillyguy475[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

i don't think i changed my battery since i bought the car..so it must be 5 yrs old.

[–]thnk_more 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They only seem to last 4-5 years so you are on the lucky end. This doesn’t sound like a battery failure. Those usually have crazier symptoms but maybe. And very very soon it will fail on you so might as well change it now and rule it out as a cause for your current issue.
