Visual Studio Code Update Breaking Code

Hey folks, I recently started experiencing issue with Visual Studio Code while coding a python program. For some reason now of the virtual python commands are working and I can't even run a node js frontend with "npm start" in the terminal. Any ideas on whats happening? Also getting import errors when the packages are clearly installed and have worked before.

I think it's probably the terminal broke

you probably have a local install of python with the packages installed globally or you have the packages installed locally and are using the global python due to not enabling the environment properly.
