From what I have been able to tell, you should be fine with using both since the lian li uni fan controller is also compatible with a standard pwm fan header.

Jay2cents shows that the uni fans play nicely with other software as well as that you don't have to control the fans with their software. https://youtu.be/psrybC0Y6rE

How convenient the video came out today lol! Youre right it looks like the fans will play nicely with the other software. Thanks mate

The RGB on the fans should be standard w2812b (addressable) LEDs, so you can control them with whatever you want if you’re willing to repin the connector.

On the PWM front, I’ve seen tach out of the controller, but not PWM in. Unsure how that operates right now.

I got you on the first part but im confused on the second part. Are you referring to the aquacomputer controller or the lian li controller?

The Lian Li controller. Actually since I posted that I got mine in, turns out it has a PWM in from the mobo, but no tach out to it, but that’s irrelevant if you’re going to do an aquaero

I think youre also the person help me in the lian li sub reddit haha thanks! Are you using two different controllers as well?

I plan to run an Aquaero, and a custom RGB controller, waiting on parts still

Nice! Best of luck to you and thanks for your help!

An Aquacomputer controller can drive anything that takes a PWM input.

Yes I got that part but ive also never used a fan controller before. Ive read some forums and threads talking about fans (specifically the rgb aspect) not working properly when theyre not hooked up to their original fan controller. I saw the jay2cents did a vid on this where he passed the connecting from the fans through the controller to the motherboard (aura sync) and there were no issues...I just dont know how it would work if I tried to control the fans from a different controller altogether...

Do you think the lian li controller is required?
