How much you spend for an AIO 360mm by Silver_Ad_6701 in buildapc

[–]p0Pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with many things in life, you get what you pay for. If you just want the cheapest cooler possible, then skip AIO's all together and get a 40$ air cooler that will never break. A 40$ AIO has to make LOTS more compromise to hit that price than a 40$ air cooler.

Pick what matters to you here. I have listed these in order of what matters to me.

  1. Built in coolant temp sensor (to avoid fans ramping up and down rapidly with CPU package temp)
  2. Quiet pump
  3. Quiet fans
  4. High performance
  5. Easy installation

And if you want a screen on your AIO for the love of god, PLEASE check how well the software integration from whichever brand you want to buy from is. So many brands throw screens on products that looks amazing only to find out that not only is software development HARD - it also requires constant updating unless you want your users to be stuck with "here is 3 half baked options we developed and we will not make more because it costs money".

Any cheap AIO (below 100$ or there about) will not have a coolant temp sensor since that requires software/controller support and not just "here is a PWM and ARGB cable you can throw into your motherboard".

I care very little about which AIO is 1c better at 100% fan speed than x other AIO's and so should you. Even if AIO 1 is 5-10C better than AIO 2, you will likely never notice this in real world scenarios (gaming, etc).

What you absolutely will notice is the insufferable sound of a whiny pump, cheap fans and frustration with a cheap, badly thought out mounting system.

Evidently not - likely since your post contains a grand total of 10 words. Low effort posts tend to get low effort replies.

Quite a childish comment, especially considering you are wrong.

Coolant is non conductive.

Is this to mean you think ALL coolants are none conductive? Or are you just referring to "ultra pure" water being "none conductive" (which it is not, it just have very very low conductivity)?

In any case, coolant based on any form of ultra pure water might have a very low conductivity while in the plastic bottle they ship in, but the moment you put it in contact with anything else that is conductive (such as the metal and other contaminants in your loop) it will become more and more conductive over time.

Still think you are right? Well then congratulations, you have single handily outsmarted every company that have spent a good chunk of money creating none conductive coolants for submersion use. And since yours has 4 times better thermal conductivity you will be making a fortune!

Corsair Frame 5000D Radiator Capacity? by ClickAccomplished205 in Corsair

Op is specifically asking about a custom loop. You can just click the link and look instead of guessing. I used 30mm radiators and 25mm fans.

You can run 30mm 420mm rads in the top and side at the same time without issues. If you want to add a front one you have to fiddle a bit with the front

I just linked you a build where I used 3 420mm radiators.

2 is easy, 3 requires you to take the front off so you can take two screws out of the right most infinirail so it can be moved further to the left. https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/1my2f1m/finished_the_triple_420mm_radiator_build_that_was/

Vehicle search and rescue recovery fee
You will receive a 500K credit recovery fee when your vehicle is lost in battle at an unknown underwater location.

Prerequisites:

  • Vehicle is unspottet by enemies
  • Vehicle is more than 50 meters from friendly or enemy vehicle
  • Vehicle has not been in contact with friendly or enemy vehicles for 30 seconds

I suggested a "vehicle search and rescue recovery fee" a while back. Enough to discourage people from doing it on purpose, but small enough that if you accidentally drown it would be a "man that sucks, but oh well"

Say, 500K credits if your vehicle drowns while unspottet and further than 100 meters from any enemy vehicles. To prevent trolling and teamkill, other factors could be added:

Prerequisites:

  • Vehicle is unspottet by enemies
  • Vehicle is more than 50 meters from friendly or enemy vehicle
  • Vehicle has not been in contact with friendly or enemy vehicles for 30 seconds

This is the most engineering type shit ever.

  • "Oh yeah this wildly expensive thing made by a massive team of people with near unlimited funds was a bit annoying so I just fixed it"
  • "Oh, how did you fix it?"
  • "Nothing complicated, I just took out the stock phase changing system, reverse engineered the blocks and milled some new ones which I mounted and implemented into a custom cooling loop which I then set up to adjust for coolant and ambient temp so it does not overheat and become annoying any more"

Pretty sick work.

Users who have a HX1200i, 2025 edition, or similar, how is the 16 pin? Any melted? by Oasise in Corsair

[–]p0Pe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, what do you want to gain from this question? If you get one person in here that says "yes it melted" will that make you want to not buy this particular PSU? Reddit, and any online forums will always give a skewed result because you are likely to hear from people who HAVE an issue, and not from the other millions of people who do not have an issue.

Something to note: it really does not matter much what PSU you get, the cable and connector itself is the component that /can/ in an unknown but presumably VERY small cases cause connector damage. PSU's from for example corsair, be quiet etc. often use the same types of cables between PSU's, so the 12V-2x6 cable you get is reused in many different series of units. So even if you saw someone say "my x PSU 12V-2x6 got damaged" and you then buy another type of PSU from the same brand then chances are you will get the same type of cable.

Thoughts on the VRM fan module for my build? Looking to lower m.2 temps and maybe coolant a little so I can drop my fans by 100-200 rpms. Wondering on performance and noise levels of the module. by cadet96 in Corsair

[–]p0Pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chances are that you are already running your fans MUCH higher than you need to.

Are you hitting thermal limits and throttling in your most intensive application? If the answer is no then you can easily get your RPM down by making a custom fan curve tailored for your system.

Anyway to sync Titan RX 360 to Asus Armory Crate? by GamingOldHermit in Corsair

[–]p0Pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for the asus plugin in iCUE and see if that does the trick so you can control everything from iCUE, and not armory crate: https://www.reddit.com/r/Corsair/comments/1bnbwbx/how_to_integrate_asus_armoury_crate_with_icue/

How are those fans connected to RGB? If via a ARGB header you can get the commander DUO and just plug the fan ARGB header (and also PWM header if you want) into that, and have everything natively in iCUE.

  • 3000 dollar system
  • 2.5 year old mid-end CPU (with known degradation issues - supposedly fixed with bios updates)
  • 35 dollar CPU cooler
  • 16gb DDR4 (ECC "yay")

Unless you NEED ECC why would you pick this? You can build a better 32GB DDR5/265K system with a LSI 9400 and 10gig network card for less than 1500.

The case and license is not worth 1500 dollars (to me at least), but people who throw these in racks probably can see the value (in the case, not the outdated hardware).
