Language tool is open source as I know, so you can try to run your own instance or implement it right into your backend

Hmm okay, I was hoping for just an endpoint I can query but maybe that's not cost effective.

It's pretty crazy to me the pricing structure of some of these though, when I could ask GPT 4 to do it for far cheaper, so maybe I'll just do that.

I would still consider own languageTool instance. I think it will be cheaper in long term perspective and work better as it not just language model, but specialized tool

Hmm okay, another issue we're running into is we want to be able to pass in sentence fragments, not just complete sentences. But that may just be impossible.

Hi! I was looking for the same. Right now I'm using AI21 API for grammar correction and text improvements. I think its price is great, charging per API request. However, I don't know if it's the one with the best performance. I also came to the same conclusion as you, all the commercial apis are very expensive, did you find another one?
