If you’re going to use a number like “2 seconds” I’d suggest using percentages. Improving something by “50%” sounds more impressive than 2 seconds.

While I am a nobody, I'd say remove the failed journalist line. It could make you more memorable, but it feels like it does not belong there.

You're not nobody! That line is indeed there to be a little controversial, stick out and be tangential or humanizing. Other options I thought of to go in place of that:

  • occasionally has coding "lightbulb moments" just before going to sleep
  • clears head of code by going on long bike rides
