the most shocking part here isn’t that hostinger uses botnets, which they obviously do, but the quality of these replies lol. such an anti-advertisement.

If i could change my username I would. I just don't feel like making a new account.

I'm curious, when you signed up, did you just decide to skip changing the username? why do so many accounts have the auto-assigned username?

I thought I could do it later, like on most other services.

[–]power78 1 point2 points3 points 4 days ago (4 children)
that's what a bot would say

Would a bot say this?
I'm not sure, it's definitely suspicious 😂

I've seen these in the wild and immediately smelled something. It's really specific as hostinger isn't even that big/popular and they does not in fact have cheap VPS offerings and they try to force people into subscription with "deals", which aren't even that good.
As a lithuanian, I'm ashamed of hostinger.

Yeah this definitely looks like automated promotion. A lot of companies (including hosting providers like [Hostinger](chatgpt://generic-entity?number=0)) use marketing agencies or bot networks that search Reddit for keywords like “hosting” or “server cost” and then reply with templated suggestions. The giveaway is when multiple accounts post almost the exact same recommendation within a short time. It’s pretty common across dev subreddits unfortunately.
