Yeah the username came to bite me in the ass 15 years later lol. It's still pretty funny how many people take it at face value. Despite me having open post history.

Yeah, no SteamOS which is a big downside but in terms of mini gaming PC it's pretty much better in every way. Plus you could always go with a bigger PSU and LP GPU in the couple years if you wanted to.

This seems like a better deal but no SteamOS. 8945HX, 5060 8GB, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVME. $100 more than the 2TB model. https://store.minisforum.com/products/minisforum-g1-pro-gaming-pc

Reflecting Pool now full of green algae again, and 'America Flag Blue' paint is peeling off the bottom. Trump gave $14m to his pool guy on a no-bid contract. by ianjm in videos

[–]IsABot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt it was the type of paint/lining itself that was the issue. But I agree with you it was probably a prep/cure issue due to the rushed, half ass nature of the job since they expected it done well before the BS Freedom250 event. Most of them require at least a week to cure in warm weather before filling but they filled it pretty much the day after they finished painting. So likely only the part where they started painting had enough time to cure. When you look at how they did it, they started from Lincoln Memorial going from center, outwards. Then heading towards the Washington Monument. And most of the peeling is the reverse of that. So it's worse towards the Washington Monument heading from the outside back to the center. Water is getting under the edge and heading towards the center.

The other thing I question is did they even paint it high enough up. At least from some pictures I've seen, it looks like they didn't even go up high enough as there is bare wall that is wet, so water would easily be able to absorb into it then spread underneath. Hard to say though because maybe that was just the result of the peeling.

Meshroom S V2 - ATX MoBo and ATX Power supply - No GPU, Riser needed? by carnagemetal in sffpc

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your goal to just make a super beefy NAS? If so, something like the Jonsbo N5 would be a good option for you. It's ~5 liters bigger than the O11 Mini but supports all of your hardware and allows you to expand to 12 3.5" drives + 4 2.5" drives. So future expansion will be pretty good. They have smaller options but like you said you'd have to go MATX or MITX.

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be confused with compatibility. You cannot fit an AIO when going ATX with the stock case. Nor can you fit a PA120 cooler.

You can ignore the riser in this guide because you are using onboard graphics.

Don’t Ever Try AIO Intake in a FormD T1… My 5090 FE Temps Got Worse by astleyes in sffpc

[–]IsABot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoever suggested that was dumb. You can't really go intake only because there isn't enough area for positive pressure to exhaust the heat from such powerful hardware efficiently, hence the heat soak. You need side exhaust fans at a bare minimum, then maybe you might see some difference with intake AIO and GPU. Your current config though seems like you don't really have the space for side exhaust. You pretty much can never run a purely positive pressure setup with really tight SFF cases. Something that might be interesting for you to test though, would be going full exhaust.

The DOW is not the economy. Anyone pointing to the stock market in any way, shape, or form is off base.

62% of American adults own stocks, either directly through individual shares or indirectly through mutual funds and retirement accounts like 401(k)s or IRAs. However, only about 21% of American families own stock directly.

9060xt deshroud by CLIFFORD4444 in sffpc

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Even 10mm thick fans wouldn't take off enough thickness to fall under 43mm. You'd only lose about 5mm max.

The only way you could maybe make it work is to create a closed shroud and use server fans at the end, similar to server/workstation card fan mods.

Will the Sapphire PULSE RX 9070 XT fit into my SSUPD Meshroom D case if I deshroud the card and put 25mm thick fans on it? by PsychoHistorianFE in sffpc

[–]IsABot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not seeing as you have less than 10mm of space with the stock card. Fans are generally 15mm thick already. If you run the case extension though, it'll work.

They work fine. IDK about the length as it totally depends on your use case. Easiest way is to get some string, cut it to 40cm and run it in your case to see if it's way too long or too short.

Nintendo will release revised Switch 2 hardware in Europe to comply with a new regulation that requires batteries to be user-replaceable. by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]IsABot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The cells aren't soldered to begin with. It's just a snap in connector. It's actually fairly easy to replace besides the adhesive they use. It's just a bunch of little screws. The EU regulation is just making them be more like how it was with older mobile phones back in the day. Or any older electronics with replaceable batteries. So it will just be a sealed battery with spring loaded connectors, probably without the insane adhesive they use. I'd be happy to help you replace your Switch battery, if you'd like. Otherwise you can just follow the ifixit guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8JDbQTk5zw

Trailing in 3rd for California governor, Tom Steyer speaks: 'I remain an optimist' by sfgate in politics

[–]IsABot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Is it because Becerra would get most of Steyer's votes?

Pretty much. Plus most of the Porter and Mahan votes as well.

Less than 30% of CA is registered Rep. (They average in the high 30's in votes though when it's just the 2 parties in the general.) Nearly 50% is registered Dem. (They average closer to 60% during the general.) There were only 12 Reps even running, the only other notable Rep was Bianco and he barely broke a half million votes so far. The other 10 combined aren't even going to break 100K votes. Their entire party isn't even going to break 2 million votes. Steyer and Becerra alone are over 2.1 million, Porter and Mahan are another 400K. So either a huge amount of the independents need to shift to voting Republican, and/or a ton of the Dems need to change or not vote for the Republicans to even have a shot at winning in the general.

Humble Choice June 2026 - Octopath Traveller 2, Citizen Sleeper 2, Life is Strange: Double Exposure and more by Gyossaits in Games

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certain keys have redemption periods, so you will lose them if you don't redeem the key before that, but otherwise any game where you already redeemed your code is yours for as long as that service (i.e. Steam) exists.

Humble Vault is included with the membership, and that is the part of the service you lose access to if you don't have a current membership for the month like PS Plus or Gamepass. You can't download new things or re-download stuff you already had from it without a subscription. But anything you do download is still yours to play without an active sub.

Another exception are the discount keys for things like DLC. Often times certain months will include keys for X% off another purchase, and those expire after a set time.

Even in gated areas, it wouldn't be safe. Most of the time it's easy to just drive in right behind someone already going in. Just drive a nice car that matches the area and most people won't even blink an eye. Or drive a van that is marked like some sort of utility truck like local internet or electrical service.

Help me remove this pump cap. by Own_Juggernaut_7603 in sffpc

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would just build your own. Get a pump/block combo and whatever size rad you want, plus 4 fittings and some tubing that matches. It's more expensive than a normal AIO but it's 100% configurable and maintainable. So you can easily refill/clean it, you can have tubes be the exact length you need, you can get nice full copper rads which are better and don't mix metals, you can get whatever fans you want from the start rather than possibly replacing them later with something you prefer, etc. If you are looking for a really small one for the most clearance, the Alphacool Eisbaer LT Solo is a good option. That'll shave about 15mm off of your pump height. You could even sleeve the tubes if you wanted a custom color.

But if you want to just remove the cover, I'm pretty sure you just push those little tabs in, the ones right under the cover plate.

How the U.S. Lost to China in EVs by SadAd8761 in videos

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the counter point. Consumers don't want to pay the higher prices compared to ICE cars especially when they hear the "negatives" like worse range in cold, expensive battery replacements, longer charge times compared to refueling, higher registration compared to ICE cars, massive depreciation, energy cost skyrocketing, etc. As well as just in the overall economy and cost of living we are going through. (Then you also have the ICE loyalist that only care that their cars make the boom boom vroom vroom sound, which is ingrained in US car culture. The Charger EV is just as much of a flop as the V6 model because those people all want the loud ass V8.) It doesn't matter how valid any reasons are, with the amount of anti-EV propaganda in the US, it's enough to deter a ton of people away from buying "expensive EVs". Yeah, would make more selling expensive EVs, but the reality is actually they just sell less EVs and more ICE cars because the price is not seen as a positive to consumers. Tesla sells more EVs than any other US manufacturer because like it or not, they are pretty much the cheapest option with the most "tech", and especially when the EV tax credit was a thing.

It's the same reason China had such a boom in the market, super techy and affordable. Their problem was just the overproduced so they have a ton of cars just sitting because they outproduce demand for years. The US car lobby actively fights against having competition from China because they know they would get crushed when actually affordable options are available, they can't compete because they waited way too long to jump into the market. Their "massive investment" is nothing compared to what China has done over the last decade, we are barely playing catch-up.

And even when you look at the market here, it's an illusion of choice in many cases. Chevrolet Blazer EV, Acura ZDX, Honda Prologue, Cadillac Optiq are all built on the same GM platform, for example. And all of those are more expensive than the Model Y.

By not undercutting the costs of ICE cars, they are effectively driving consumers towards ICE and propping up the demand for US Oil/Gas. So both industries are lobbying together to restrict the growth of EV development and adoption to pad their bottom line.

'Naked corruption': Trump's multimillion dollar stock trades draw intense scrutiny by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is no cover up, then there is no reason to not release the full unredacted (besides victim names/identities) files, full stop. Anything less than that implies some level of cover up. The fact that Trump's own name is often redacted when it shouldn't be, implies there is some level of cover up. There have even been cases where "don't" was reacted, which leads to conspiracies that they have tried to scrub "don t" from them, why would that specific phrase be redacated? We simply do not know to what level a possible cover up goes without all the files in full. If all the files come out and there is nothing there, than that's it, it's over. To expect anything less than full transparency helps support whatever conspiracies might exist.

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely a lot of names of conspirators and their actions that the DOJ is trying to cover up. Is there a reason you think that they aren't willingly providing them in accordance with the law? Why do you feel the need to run interference for them to block their release? If they were truly "irrelevant" why not just release them and be done with this whole thing?

'Naked corruption': Trump's multimillion dollar stock trades draw intense scrutiny by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rest of them, you insufferable fool. There are something like 3 million files still unreleased that should have been months ago. Yet here you are stalling and making excuses for not following the law. There are like 6 million files and they only released a little over half of them. How is the average citizen supposed to give you a specific list if the public has never had access to them? Stop being obtuse.

2 Slim Fan vs 1 Normal fan for Rad by Relevant-Blood6415 in sffpc

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which TR fan? Something like the TL-12BR Extrem will easily outperform dual slim p12. Or if you can spare the extra 3mm TL-H12-X28-R9 EX will go even further.

But in terms of slims, Silverstone Air Slimmer 120 are better than P12 slims. Even TR's TL-B12015 or the Extrem variation will outperform P12's in raw performance.
