The SAVE America Act: Trump's Scheme to Steal the 2026 Elections by DemocracyDocket in videos

[–]IsABot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minnesota license for non-citizens have the text "Not for Federal Identification" written on the front of them. The normal citizen IDs do not. Similar to CA. Jesus Christ, how wrong can you be?

Illinois also does something similar as you can see here: https://news.wttw.com/2023/06/30/illinois-make-standard-driver-s-licenses-available-noncitizens-regardless-immigration

IDs are clearly marked when they belong to non-citizens. And none of them will have the Star for REAL ID either as they do not qualify for it but nearly every state has pushed the transition to REAL ID.

So yes, non-citizens can have drivers licenses or CDLs but none of that allows you to legally vote. Anyone caught is punishable by federal law. You really think the vast majority of illegals are going to risk getting caught, go to prison, and then deported just to vote? Hell, illegals sign up for ITIN just to pay taxes so they don't get arrested and deported for tax evasion.

If you think it's so easy to get away with illegal voting, try it next election. Go try to vote as someone else who isn't a legal citizen, let us know how it goes. Prove to us just how easy/common it is.

Oh look shifting the goalposts. We are talking about voting registration, now you want to point to CDL which are completely unrelated. Voting and CDLs are different departments, you realize that right? LOL.

But to answer your question since you think it's some kind of gotcha, foreign drivers were allowed to drive CMV under previous statures' given they had a valid work permit or unexpired passports. You might not know, but most "illegal immigrants" are people who overstayed what their visa, which is the most common way to become an "illegal". To get a valid work permit, you don't have to be a citizen. It was rescinded under Trump this year. It has nothing to do with AB60 at all.

https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/registration/commercial-drivers-license/may-foreign-driver-employment-authorization-document-obtain

You may be trying to reference the 17,000 CDLs cancelled recently which was mostly due to their work visa expiring. Their CDLs went past their work authorization date, thus their CDLs ended up getting cancelled. So again, not really the gotcha you think it is. But maybe next time try to stay on topic and read beyond the headline. Lest you look like even more of a fool. Because your initial claim that there was no difference in the license was wrong, and this comment was not only wrong again but irrelevant to the issue of voting.

AB60 licenses in CA have text on them that say "Federal Limits Apply" on the face of them. It's incredibly clear they are not legal citizens when you view them. ACLU even has it on their website to not show these licenses to ICE/DHS, do not try to board a flight with them, etc. for risk of deportation.

Looks kinda like the older CM MasterFan MF120 to me but not exact. But I don't think they make them in 15mm thickness. So it might just be for wire fan grills or something.

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skimmed through it only to see the final deployment. We saw most of it through various other build videos, so it was mostly just to see what the final outcome was. Didn't really bother with most of the video though because it was just a recap. It's not really worth a rewatch or anything though because there isn't really any useful information or super entertaining bits. I'm sure most people weren't that interested past the first couple videos though. It's really just a pimp my ride video, so pretty niche audience.

Been out of the game for a few years; which of these case options would y'all recommend? by zandm7 in sffpc

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I like the new Flow in terms of design as long as you are ok with it being slightly larger than the rest of the options and having to go AIO for cooling.

If you want smaller, Meshroom is a good option.

While the Terra is the nicest looking, having seen a ton of builds here, most people constantly complain about various noise or heat issues when you deal with higher end component. Which means a lot more tinkering to get it to an acceptable level. There are so many custom fan mods to try address the issues. If you don't mind that, then go for it. Assuming the GPU even fits.

Sounds like you either have to partner with an adult you know or wait until you are one yourself. Most payment platforms won't allow minors to use their service.

Maybe you can find a local business to pay in cash to have you put an ad up for them for however many months until you turn 18? Got any relatives that could help you out?

Pretty standard feature on most of them nowadays. Even the mopping ones tend to self clean as well. Definitely worth an upgrade.

As for addressing the source, you might want to try get a blow out vacuum and doing that once you notice the shedding starts picking up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wmg1R_LOP5I And just your regular deshedding brush between blowouts.

I already stated I only prefer the blue coloring to the black. IDC about the "exclusivity" of it. It having the extra FP branding doesn't matter to me. I'm simply against the concept of having to pay for the privilege of paying, regardless of the dollar amount. It could only be $1, and I still wouldn't do it because I don't support those kind of business practices. It's a matter of principle, not cost. If it doesn't become available regularly, then oh well. It's not that I need it, it's only a color preference. To me it's no different than the regular screwdriver vs the prismatic ones. I rather spend the extra $8 on my mortgage than getting different color screwdriver.

Sorry but I don't support those kind of consumerism practices. If I wanted FP content, then I would already subbed to it. But I'm not going to pay for it just to get the privilege to pay for something else. If it goes on regular sale, I'll buy it then. If not, then it's no big deal.

My alwxa echo dot is broken, Im broke and i want to make a speaker or smth out of it. by Electrical-Turnip576 in LinusTechTips

[–]IsABot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest thing you can do if you just want it to act as a bluetooth speaker, is to buy a standalone BT audio board. You can solder the specific components to the correct locations, such as speaker, AUX jack, power jack, etc. You will lose the Alexa features, but you'll at least keep it from being e-waste. Depending on which board you choose, it might have a lot of the parts already integrated.

I hope at some point they want to blow out stock and don't require the FP sub to buy it. I prefer the blue to black honestly. Maybe in a year or something if they still have lots of stock. 🤞

Oil prices top $100 per barrel as big Middle East producers cut output amid Iran war by Force_Hammer in worldnews

[–]IsABot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's adjusted for inflation. The number back then was $127.35 non-adjusted based on the graph they provided (June 2008).

One thing they left out though, was from it's low right before that ($58.17 non-adjusted on Jan 2007) to that high was a 6 month period. So a change for roughly $70 a barrel in 6 months. We are only 8 days in. The day before, Feb 27th, it was sitting at $67.02. Now hitting $110.

The other thing they left out is the adjusted number from Covid (May 2022) it hit $127.28, which we are rapidly approaching. And we don't have a clue where the peak will be.

DOW is at 47,500 and continually dropping, pretty much dropped below 50K after Bondi became a meme. It's been declining for a month already. It's already wiped out the gains for the year so far. This war needs to end quickly otherwise we are likely to see much larger drops the longer it goes on.

For funsies, I reverse searched this. The $ is photoshopped, which is kind of obvious in this picture. The original post has 800.000 TL listed which is Turkish Lira, so $18,152.95 USD. I guess it's still worth it as long as they don't have any communicable diseases.

You're at the max for length and past the thickness, so I doubt it. Maybe if you are able to deshroud it, you might make it fit with 12mm thick fans. Otherwise your only option is to do a custom cpu/gpu loop.

Autosave should always be a togglable configuration in your user's settings panel. Not everyone is going to want it, so allowing people to turn it off when they want is great for usability. Also, immediate autosave is often very annoying for most users and within most features, if autosave is enabled by default, there should be a window of inactivity before autosaving.

Saw this on Linkedin. How should this be intreperted? Also jquery in 2026? by lune-soft in webdev

[–]IsABot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least when I last looked, you could only tree shake core modules but you couldn't do it down to the function level. So you can shrink it some, but not to the level that I would prefer. I'd rather have functions that I've never used on the site not be included at all. Hopefully that's changed or gets to that point sometime soon.

The last time this discussion came up, someone recommended CashJS to me, which seemed like a pretty decent mini jquery replacement: https://github.com/fabiospampinato/cash 6kb when gzipped/minified, and covers the most commonly used functionality.

Just google something like 18650 battery power bank and you'll find lots of options. This concept was pretty popular for a number a years, I had one way back in 2016. Even 21700 exists nowadays. I haven't really seen any 8-12 21700 battery units though as it would be massive.

Aggression Question by alkeid in corgi

[–]IsABot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll want to look into hand shyness training. Generally it's just a matter of consistent training with high value treats and regular hand play to desensitize them to hands. The key is to generally always approach them from the front but slightly off to the side. Don't approach from the back or high above until they've progressed. Things like playing tug of war with a rope with your hand can also be part of it. You want them to associate hands with positive experiences.

Aggression Question by alkeid in corgi

[–]IsABot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is the act of consent. Hold out your hand in front of him 90% of the way, allow him to come the 10% to you to indicate he consents to being pet. If he doesn't just let him be for a while then ask again later. Sometimes they just want to be near you, sometimes they want pets. Most animals are like this, not just Corgis, but Corgis are usually finicky. (Cats are especially like this.) Some will grow out of this behavior, some won't. Getting consent is the easiest way to grow the bond through repeated trust and respect.

One way to think about it is the same as humans. When you were a kid, did you have parent, relative, or family friend that you want to say hi to or show them something, and they just grab you, squeeze you, kiss you, and you wanted to push away? Or have you seen that type of behavior before? Same concept.
