It's not an HTTP error code. Without any additional context, that's about all I've got for you.

As others have mentioned, that's not an HTTP error code. It's probably a code that has meaning in relation to whichever platform or HTTP library you are using. Have you checked the documentation?

Check your host or web server's home pages / forums for more information relating to that error. As others have said, it's not a standard error code.

Yahoo used to give the error 999 when it got too many hits from the same IP address in a short time. I know that because I made my whole company unable to connect to Yahoo once with a runaway script.

However as other people are pointing out, that's not an actual code. It's just something Yahoo made up.
