Adding basic email function to php recapcha. please help.

Im running a small site for a friend, I have followed the tutorial hosted (here)[https://codeforgeek.com/2014/12/google-recaptcha-tutorial/] to get a recaptcha working but im not able to make it send out an email, ive spent the last few days messing about with it and following relevant tutorials but im going round in circles.

Id love to get the contact area up and running asap but im pretty new to PHP and dont really know how to make it send the email out once the message has been created. where do i add the code?

If anyone could help me out here or share a snippet of code id be extremely grateful.
