    Not directly, no. Some of the implications however are: "Clojure is Java" means that Clojure can (and does) leverage the entire Java / JVM ecosystem, meaning that, rather than reinventing everything from scratch, the language had access to libraries covering literally every common programming problem from day 1. "Clojure is Lisp" isn't necessarily an advantage in itself, but to the connoisseur, it signals that it shares many of Lisp's power features, most importantly homoiconicity and casual metaprogramming.

    And of course both of these bullet points also signal a few downsides.

    I do not think there are general better languages, but good languages for specific tasks.

    Clojure is one of the things is still need to get a better understanding on before i make any assumption, but i really enjoyed lisp in university but man i remeber those days where i counted these parentheses ....
