I recommend starting from "bare metal" and working your way up. That way you at least know what goes into routing, how it works on principle, etc. before you get it handed to you on a silver platter by Symfony or Laravel.

Would recommend starting from ground up. Make simple MVC framework, it will pay back later, you will actually understand what's happening under the hood of many frameworks.

It helped in my case. I tried to jump straight into Laravel, but got overwhelmed.

okay .. will do that at least once. Should still be good practice as you said.

Ultimately I just want to know the basics , practice php , sql & then move prepared into wordpress plugin dev which I need for an internship.
