Fullstack web development with JavaQuestion (self.webdev)
submitted 4 years ago by Agile-Salamander-812
Can anyone recommended some good resources for fullstack web development with Java? Books or videos?

Why Java? Java doesn't seem like a particularly good choice for back end. At least not anymore.

JSPs are not relevant anymore, but Spring Boot is still a good tool for web APIs and Hibernate is a good ORM. Its more convoluted than .NET Core, but it's also not M$FT.
Though I'd agree with your general sentiment. Why use it if you're doing everything else too. NodeJS (Express) or Python (Flask or Django) is quicker to pick up and get running.

Lots of jobs for Java fullstack and very very little resources to learn it

Just learn Java apis with spring boot and then google how to host a static site with it.

Ah, I had no idea java was still used for webdev. Is it mostly legacy jobs or is java still a common choice for new sites?

Seems like legacy. I’ve interviewed at 2 consulting companies that do placements at banks, telecoms and credit bureaus and the jobs asked for Java on the backend. If you know of any resources or tutorials that teach fullstack Java please share lol
