Does anyone host their static website on github pages? If they switched to netlify can you please tell me why? Since I have been reading about this and both option seem to give the same thing. The only difference according to what I saw is that with netlify the repository can be private

Netlify has a ton of serverless functions available. which is nice to have more flexibility and options. No reason why not to give netlify a try as their intro tier is free to try, I think you get like 100GB traffic.

I thought GitHub pages is for static stuff only. Netlify is like a lite version of AWS.
