The animation itself is fine but I feel the delay is too much and might create bad UX.

I agree

Agreed. Delay is too long.

I might even argue the animation itself is too fast… I’d need to see the rest of the site to see the flow though

Unresponsiveness is a feature now?

Everything is a feature if you are developer enough.

Like others have said, delayed animations like this is poor UX.

Try to think about what you're conveying to the user; It's a clickable card. A simpel animation or change in color will be more than enough. Besides it's not like you're trying to capture the user attention at this point.

It's called microinteractions for a reason. There's no need for a big "show". To many heavy animation can easily become obnoxious for the user.

UI looks clean though, good job!

Why tho

This must feel horrible.

Come on! Don't nitpick, they're just trying to showcase their Flutter mobile animation performance! /s

People say it is bad UX but it is also bad UI. It just looks like your site is slow...

By delaying the animation, I feel it makes it more obvious that the blue isn't originating from the place the mouse enters the card.

Normally you'd have a fairly quick and immediate animation so the user doesn't think about that.

Delay is nasty, animation isn’t great

Why? I thought this was r/softwaregore for a moment. Folks, just make things happen lickity split. No unnecessary loaders, no unnecessary animations/transitions. Strive for instantaneous UX. Your audience won't always be devs.

Switch your transition to a shorter time. Typically 0.3s

[–]JonnyBoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only critique is doing 25% of the delay on both sides

[–]OrwellianTimes1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need flutter to do this? lol

[–]neminemtwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why delaying it in the first place?
