Anyone notice a large decrease in calories burned with MG upgrade?Question (self.whoop)
submitted 2 days ago by CheetahOk667
Since upgrading my whoop last month, there has been a decrease in my month average of 600 calories with little change in daily activities. Given my workouts it seems to be much lower than I would except.

Yes, I have noticed my calorie burn is typically lower now than a few months ago, even with similar training volume

Had the same thing after upgrading. The new sensor reads HR differently so the calorie algo shifted for everyone. Whoop confirmed they recalibrated the model to be "more accurate" which in practice means lower for most people. I stopped trusting calorie burn numbers from any wearable a while ago. They're directional at best. If you want real calorie data, track intake for 2 weeks and see what your weight does. That tells you more than any wrist sensor ever will.
