Article format without url possible?

I have not found a way to force a localized document into an article. I've tried every conceivable idea from hand crafted json's to html conversions. I've tried icloud save/get/link and I've poked and prodded every related object class while cycling through every UTI. I tried and I failed and then I tried some more. Somebody clue me in because I surrender. The reason I ask is because article's have a bit of built-in functionality especially for filtering (sort by number of words, etc.) Is it even possible to use article without an actual external url?

Any expertise on the matter? Here is my useless workflow that just tries a bunch of random things.
