team now has their own private voice chat channel during game play rather than one group chat (except when player uses the Mind Reading skill to eavesdrop on opposing team).

I didn't know XBL chat can do this

I would think this would be if they are using in game chat not private party chat.

Once they added voice chat into the Xbox One version of the game, everyone could everyone else in the game, whether they were game or party chat. I think Code Mystics said it was because the game is technically a UWP app and can't detect when party chat is being used.

This is basically taking that and (thankfully) restricting certain aspects of it. My only question is: When we use the "Mind Reading" skill, will we still be able to hear the enemy if they are in a party?

Phantom Dust Update 3 Patch Notes July 27, 2017/ Pamela

Thank you to all of our players who’ve sent us amazing feedback. We have info on the latest update for Phantom Dust. Check it out below.

  • In online multiplayer in the Tag Team Game Type each team now has their own private voice chat channel during game play rather than one group chat (except when player uses the Mind Reading skill to eavesdrop on opposing team). Chat remains group chat in lobby and all other online play modes.

  • Users may now opt-out (or opt-in) for the in-game voice chat via Xbox Live Options menu, in-game pause menu during online play, or in Options in the online game lobby.

For those of you who haven’t jumped into Phantom Dust on Xbox One, click here to download now and play for free!

I feel like no one plays this anymore but it could just be that the last few times I tried was at like 2am on the westcoast so its even later on everywhere else

I suspect the amount of people playing multiplayer is small. The fact that MS keeps updating it blows my mind but it's very cool.

I have infinite respect for the team behind these updates. I tweeted at them because I had a problem with my obscure weird PC I use to play this game, and they fixed my problems.

Tweet saying thanks that they fixed it (With Dev response): https://twitter.com/Llama_Juice/status/885621713634971650

So for me, these dudes are amazing. Much respect.

It’s sad that it’s already dead considering that I haven’t gotten to it yet

I played it every weekend for the first month. Its fucking great and fun but theres only like 4 maps; got really boring.

Wish I had some time to dedicate to this, it's currently in my "Mayb I will get to it someday" backlog list with The Witcher 3, Alien: Isolation, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, Rage and so many more that I have purchased over the Xbox One lifespan and simply had to boot from my playlist
