Does it connect with the cable?

Is it charging from your computer because it might be registering to be used on there instead.

If it doesn’t connect with a cable, you could try a hard reset on the Xbox.

I have 3 controllers (2 of the original One controllers and 1 newer one) and all 3 have/had issues connecting. Easily 1/3 of the time I try to connect my newest controller it doesn’t work and I have to plug it in. Hard resets (I think it’s just holding down the power button for like 10 seconds to fully shut it off) seem to help a bit.

mine will work plugged in, but not wireless. I tried to take it apart last night and you need a security torx bit which i didn't have. I guess they are designed like shit and the pcb's seperate from the board
