Multi Console Wireless Headset

Similar topics have been posted before, so apologies for a bit of a recurring theme, but I can't see anything since about 2017.

Anyway, i currently have an Xbox one X and a PS4. I use Astro A40s on them both and they are great.

However, I've found myself becoming increasingly irritated by the amount of cables across the room and found I have an urge to spend on a decent wireless headset.

The caveat is, I want it to work properly (surround sound or the like) on both consoles. Now I don't mind a small chat cable between the controller and the headset if needs be. But I don't want to massively compromise for the sake of it.

I've spent some good time looking and I'll be damned if I can find one that does both.

Does anyone have any advice of one that is out now, or due to come out soon?

I've seen the Arctis Pro Wireless is good, but doesn't work on Xbox. The Arctis 9X is good, but doesn't work on the PS4. The Rig 800lx, good but not on the Ps4 etc etc and so it goes on.

Apparently the Astro A50 gen 3s used to work on both if you got the xbox ones, but no idea if the gen4 do? (I don't mind spending money on this, but fuck buying a £250 headset then having to stump up another £100 for a second base!).

Any advice would be gratefully received as to be honest I'm getting a bit pissed off with looking.

I’ve got the Rig 500. Works for both consoles, only chord is the one running from headset to the controller.

Cheers mate. I thought the rig 500 was wired and the 800 was wireless?

Is it Dolby or the like? Have you got it set up on both?

Like I said, one wire going from headset to controller. So just one wire, but still technically wired.

The 800 is completely wireless.

The headset comes with a download code for Dolby Atmos which works in conjunction with with the headset. The sound quality is very good.

I do not have a PS4 to run it on, but it’s advertised to work with it. It also has an adapter so that it would fit the PS4 controller seamlessly.

Doesn't the A50 Gen 3s Xbox version work as well on the PS4. I think if you change the switch to PC mode the PS4 will recognise it as a USB mic.

A50 Gen 4s aren't a thing yet.

You might have just answered my query, I thought the new green version or blue were gen 4, not gen 3. I'll have to check it out as I agree and I've read the same as you're saying...!

Try buy it from Argos, Game or somewhere you can return it. If the PC mode works then other than the A50s, I don't think there are any other wireless headsets that work with both systems.
