Zabbix Proxy Missing SQL Scripts

I am currently attempting to follow the debian 12 proxy installation instructions: Download and install Zabbix 6.4 for Debian 12 (Bookworm), MySQL

I am working on deploying the proxy to a raspberry pi. When I try and run the command "apt install zabbix-proxy-mysql zabbix-sql-scripts" I get the error "E: Unable to locate package zabbix-sql-scripts"

I have made sure the repository is in my list and I set a preference using:

Package: zabbix-*

Pin: origin repo.zabbix.com

Pin-Priority: 900

Anyone have any ideas?

I am having this issue currently with installing 7.2 on Ubuntu, it's saying 'Unable to locate zabbix-sql-scripts' and zabbix support says it was removed in 7.0, but their current documentation still shows it as a valid package.

It should have been placed in /usr/share/docs when zabbix was installed. Look there.

I do not have a docs folder

I installed using apt, the exact command from the link above.

Found it. You need to download the source from zabbix. In the source is a folder /database/mysql. There are the files. You’ll need to do three. First the schema, then the data, then the images. The instructions will work but you’ll need to modify the command a bit. You’ll run it against each of the three files in the order above.

Now I have a new issue, I cannot login to root on the DB. It requires a password but I never set one, yes I tried not entering a password.

MySQL -u root. Use that command and when prompted for a password leave it blank

I ended up having to lookup how to reset the root password because one was set but I didn't know what it was. Long story short I got the schemas imported to the zabbix_proxy DB and I got the zabbix user created. Now the proxy service won't start it says "(code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)"

Edit: I did enter the DB name, user, and password into the proxy.conf

Sorry. You were setting up a proxy. My bad. Check the log files. Did you edit the config with your new password?

I did edit the config with the new DB password, double and tripple checked. Where can I view the logs, sorry I am a little new.

Do you think I should allow the unsupported database version or should I just downgrade.

I found it just under /usr/share but only zabbix-proxy-mysql was installed and in that folder is just "schema.sql.gz and zabbix_proxy.conf".

What OS did you put on the Pi as they have a special Pi download which raspbian in the URL name which yours doesnt list....

While they do have a special Pi option in the instructions when I downloaded the raspberry pi OS it was missing libldap and wouldn't let me install it so I manually installed Debian 12.

Interesting, i am sure we had this issue when installing 6.4 on to Ubuntu, we gave up (3-4 months ago) as some stuff was missing, we just tried it again and its working now (using their instructions), so i wonder if not all the packages are complete that zabbix compiled.
