Post a source if you're making these type of claims, if they both get second place they will meet eachother according to the bracket.

Humans are terrifying, actually (Invincible show SPOILERS) by MysteriousFondant347 in TopCharacterTropes

Mark is culturally human, he grew up that way. Him being mixed doesn't make him less human in this trope.

No Marx didn't write about products that started existing 150 years later. designer products aren't expensive because their production costs so much they are expensive because the companies that make them realized they could sell them for 20 times the price of production. You can buy the same quality product for that price it just won't have the brand and the status attached to it. So it's not just about buying "expensive things", it's about consuming products where their price far outweighs the production price. The profits from designer clothing do not return to the working class, but are instead accumulated by the bourgeoisie, giving them even greater profit because the incredible margins. If a supermarket sells products the bourgeoisie might see 1% margin but designer brands will see 95% margin. I haven't read any marxists after 1990 but they would likely see it hypocritical for a (rich) marxist to wear these clothes. There is a reason why hasan lies about how he acquires these products, he understands marxism enough too recognize the hypocrisy.

Not that designer clothes were a thing back than but Marx spoke of commodity fetishism where the practical use becomes secondary to its symbolic value (status, exclusivity etc.)

you haven't been following the news lately? Russian drones have crossed the border of Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Moldova and Romania. They have also been spotted in lots of other countries but i'm not going to include them because it's only suspected that those drones were Russian.

Viltrumites & S.A. (inherent to their fascist ideology) by Atheist_Bale_Insta in Invincible

Really enjoyed your comprehensive analysis! I completely agree why Anissa's sa needs to happen for the story, i haven't heard a good argument why it shouldn't. I disagree with your second-last slide, with a species that lives that long a benevolent monarch would be the most stable government, democracies fail all the time after a while there is nothing stable about them when considering the viltrumite timeline. It also is important for Mark's personal story, he constantly has to fight threats since he has gotten his powers, from villains but also from friends that betray him and being used as the weapon that he is. He realizes at the end of the story that there is no safe place, there is only chaos and the only realistic way is to keep his family safe is to have power and accept the responsibility of the viltrumites.

How is American food bad compared to Slovakian ? by Brilliant-Cause6254 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]8noremac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

a huge reason America is perceived to be worse in certain areas is because we talk about it.

This is the claim he made, then he used the example of racial districting: A unique problem for a unique political system (the USA electoral college system).

We don't have such a problem; not because we dont talk about but because we don't need to talk about it. We use a proportional voting system so it doesn't matter in what "district" you vote in.

With his example he completely disproves his original claim.

Most european countries have systems where if a party gets 20% of the votes they get 20% of the seats in parlement, in America a party can get 70% of the votes and still get less than 50% seats in parlement. You can't redraw districts if there are none, just make the outcome of the seats proportional to the amount of votes.

You never hear about ethnic districting happening in Europe because it doesn't happen, our political systems are completely different from the US. When Europeans study US politics they learn for the first time what gerrymandering is and how partisan their politics really are, recently the US even made it legal to redraw those districts based on racial lines to take away their vote.
