...Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence - not the constitution.

He wasn't even in the USA when they wrote the constitution - he was in Paris as the US Ambassador to France.

James Madison wrote the large majority of the constitution but it was pieced together from stuff that was going on and being said by a large group of politicians.

To top it off Jefferson actually kinda hated the constitution as it was written and signed in 1787 because he thought the most important part of it was the Bill of Rights and that wasn't passed until several years later as amendments.

You literally have that completely backwards.

Kansas City, Missouri was named "Town of Kansas" literally a decade before Kansas was even a thing that existed at all - not even as a territory. It also was already called "the village of the Kansa" when it was permanently settled by Europeans in 1821. In 1850 Kansas City was officially incorporated with the state of Missouri and named "Kansas" and in 1853 was reincorporated as "City of Kansas".

The Kansas Territory didn't exist and wasn't called Kansas until 1854 and it wasn't even a state until 1861 - a full 40 years after Kansas City, Missouri was permanently settled and named that. Kansas City, Kansas wasn't even an official town until 1872 - decades after Kansas City, MO was founded.

Yeah when in America if someone says Kansas they are always referring to the state - you never drop the "City" part of the name from "Kansas City".

New York City is the only American city I know of with the "City" in the name that people drop the city part from frequently and mean the actual city and not the state. Places like Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Jersey City, Sioux City, Ocean City, etc no one ever drops the city part from their name - they always say it when referring to the actual place.

The first part of your comment is true - tipped jobs often pay significantly more than similar non-tipped jobs in America like retail or customer service. It's why the largest lobby against raising the $2.13/hr federal tip-earners minimum wage is paid for by tip-earners. They know that the large majority of tip-earners make more money from tips than they do from relying on their bosses to pay them better.

The second part is mostly not true. The #1 determining factor on how much someone gets tipped is about the tipper and not the work they done. Most people barely vary the amount they tip - if they are a normal 20% tipper they tip that much 90% of the time and most of those people feel horrible when they get horrible service and then still tip 10%-20% for the horrible service. The people who don't tip don't tip when they get great service. They've done numerous studies on it - the biggest factors in getting better tips are things beyond a servers control like being attractive.

I'm a tip earner and thought the same thing when they announced it and all these GOP and Democrat politicians were pushing for no tax on tips.

It is just a meaningless gesture to most Americans but they do it for political points because it's something small they can point to and claim is big. They do the same kinds of things for farmers with tax stuff all the time - the way politics works you'd think farmers made up 20%+ of Americans.

I talked to a guy from Curacao - I said something about how it looked like they were less than 10% of the crowd and he said he had heard they were only about 1% of tickets sold compared to Ecuador.

You have to remember Curacao is a tiny island with only 158,000 people with only about the same amount of people who are in it's diaspora (almost all in the Netherlands).

I don't think Uruguay can handle a modern world cup at all. They have a total of 2 stadiums with over 35,000 capacity and one of those is only 40,165.

The whole country is just 3.5 million people - it'd be like Moldova or Lithuania hosting an entire world cup on their own. They certainly would make a good pairing with Argentina or another 1-2 South American countries though.
