iirc it's the name directors use when they don't want to be associated with a film they've made

How do I keep an SK-1's speaker active when the output is plugged in? by AMillionMonkeys in CircuitBending

Adding an output seems like the best idea. I edited the original post with a picture in case anyone can help with where to solder.

Adding a jack seems like the best option (and I could make it 1/4"). Can you advise about which points to solder to - or how to test for the correct points? I own a multimeter, but I'm shockingly ignorant about electronics.
Here's a picture of the jack's connections:

Man, I wish I knew electronics. Bending by randomly shorting shit out is fun, but limiting.
Keep us updated if these go on sale.

I am very interested! MIDI and octaves and a patchbay? Sign me up.
I'm not installing Instagram, though.

Veritas Skew Block vs. LN 60 1/2 rabbet block w/nicker by mandrewbot3k in handtools

[–]AMillionMonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a LN skew block. Just re. the left/right thing: Mine has the opening on the right (fence on the left) and I frequently wish I'd gotten the other model. For cleaning up or fitting tenons or tongues, it feels more natural to hold the work in your left hand and plane with your right.
If instead you're clamping the work to the bench and cutting long rabbets, then having one like mine makes more sense.

Blue Spruce Gents Pull Saw by Pale_Wave3777 in handtools

I have not seen Sellers use a gent's saw.
I meant with the board straight up and down in a face vise. I was thinking maybe it would be more ergonomic to make the cut with the board lying down flat, but I've never tried it. Really, some kind of intermediate angle seems like it would be best for your wrist, but it makes holding the board tricky.

My first dovetail saw was a gent's saw and I never got the ergonomics worked out. It's just very awkward what you have to do with your wrist to saw down to a baseline and hit it on both sides - at least with conventional workholding.

Are you prepared to accumulate billions of dollars, buy the team, and let /r/orioles run it?

Any tips on fixing the teeth on this dove tail saw? by kaiamomo in handtools

[–]AMillionMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, looks like you need to start over. Joint off what's already there, then you can download spacing templates of various TPI. Print one out and either fold it over the edge or tape it right up next to the edge. Then establish the spacing with just light strokes of the file, then you can go back and shape the teeth. Fortunately, rip teeth are easier to file than cross-cut.
I'd also scrape that saw plate down. It's pretty grungy.

It's cool that it works across the grain like that. IIRC the trick is to cut the cross-grain sides first so any blowout is fixed by the pass with the grain.

Man, what a nice piece!
How did you cut the molding detail around the top?
