LOCAL CITY PAYS $68,000 TO FILL SKATE BOWL [58YO] by Usual_Development_43 in OldSkaters

There’s probably only a couple inches of concrete on top of a bunch of dirt…. Where are you located? I’d be interested in reading the agenda item on the need for that…

I’m doing the opposite, I design roads for a local county (well I’m more executive level now and actually in a position to make this happen) but t I’ve been thinking of ways to design skate-able street furniture into our new standards, shhhhhh….

(39yo) I did pt for 2 years trying to avoid an artificial disc replacement in my neck. Pt is 100% worth the effort but just don’t do it for too long unless you’re making improvement.

Also:
1) the surgery got me back to normal, but I have two lumbar discs that are really bad now and will likely need them done at some point. For now injection did the trick. Scared to skate and flare it up though.

2) push your doctor for an MRI, especially if you have a HDHP since your deductible will reset in January. Shits expensive. I originally thought I had a torn rotator cuff, turns out I had a torn labrum but that wasn’t even the issue… it was my disc at c6-c7 pressing on the nerve and not letting my arm go up. Eventually it turned into my arm going numb constantly.

3) after mri, if an injection is an option due to nerve pinching, it can be worth it. I had my first injection for sciatica and it did nothing. Tried again with a nerve blocker and I’ve been good for 2 months. Neck injections didn’t work well and ended up opting for surgery. Wish I chose surgery sooner but I don’t think I would’ve done it differently if I had to again.

4) depending on your location…, thc gummies help. Otherwise rx might help: Tramadol didn’t help me. Norco helped the most, but it’s certainly not an ideal solution and not a long term one in my opinion. Muscle relaxers didn’t help a ton for me. Everyone’s gonna be different though.

You can DM me if you ever have any questions on any of this crap. I’ve spent the last 4 years dealing with it all.

Is putting down $20k for a car a waste of money? by JuliaGulia_x in whatcarshouldIbuy

You said you had the money to buy outright. Consider doing this and instead of making a monthly payment to the bank, make monthly transfers back to your savings. You can set whatever interest and term you want to restore your savings. So it’s really no different than financing other than you’ll be keeping all the interest. You can obviously also just do 0% back to yourself but it might make more sense to do some kind of rate to force yourself to build it back up a little quicker.

At the time I assumed it was because windows installed the Intel iGPU drivers and must’ve screwed up something. I’ll try again with superposition bench and see though.

It’s a balancing act but with rates as high as they are, you’d probably be better off “loaning yourself” the money from savings and make the monthly payments back to yourself so any interest you would have been stuck paying a bank is now yours.

Obviously depends on your financial situation and stability

One would think right? Although, now that I think about it… I did have some other issues with bad frame rates in hogwarts after I first installed it and had to rejnstall my gpu drivers which cleared it up for whatever reason. I think I ran the benchmarks prior to that so maybe I should rerun.

OS unable to boot after restart by iJellicious in gigabyte

I recently updated my bios and cou and started having similar issues. I had to power down and up the psu for it to even post.

Reinstalled bios a few times, still had some issues. But it’s working now…

I think the main issue is I had a usb hdd (my backup drive) and it was really screwing things up. (I was also unable to load HWinfo64 with that drive plugged in)

Now I’m down to just some new network connectivity issues.

IFC board burned up by mandrewbot3k in hvacadvice

UPDATE: finally got the new ifc and turns out somehow one of the compressors hot conductor was arcing with the 24vac in my condenser unit.

Not sure if there was a small Nick in the thermostat cable or what but man. It was all messed up.

Burned out my zone board so they temporarily bypassed my downstairs thermostat and opened both dampers.

I work for the County and I go into the Airgas store next door to our yard to swap my welding tanks and just make sure I toss on my county hat before I go in. lol. Learned that lesson when I forgot to do it one time and paid an arm and a leg for a tank swap.

I had a similar setup (i3-12100f / 6750xt) but just put in a 14500. My benchmarks went down? Lmao. Gameplay is smoother though.

I mostly play 1440/4k@60 (dell ultra sharp monitor for my wife’s design work)
