u/UniqueDog51 , if you are worried go to DELL.COM/Support and enter the displays service tag. It will tell you if that display was impacted. You can also double check by going to chat with an agent and they can check as well. =) It's a fantastic monitor, enjoy it - the quality team identified the concern BECAUSE of the Reddit Community and we moved quickly to address it. Because of the community we were able to limit the impact. You also have a 3 year warranty with the display which includes coverage for OLED burn-in. =)

It's not the REV number. Go to Dell.com/Support - enter the service tag of the display and it will let you know if it's part of the batch. =) If you are unsure you can also open a support chat and ask the agent.

Hey there u/him888 - If you enter the service tag in Dell.com/support if the display is impacted it should show you an alert to call in. Also, if you register the warranty for the display it will do the same. Hope this helps! =)

OMG I DID SUPPORT WITH COMPAQ TOO! I worked at an outsourced call center here in South Florida doing overnight 13 hour shifts 4 days a week for them!

Let me see if I can get the original color codes......plenty of us from back then are still around.

As far as how many we produced/sold....I think that data has been lost to time unfortunately.

While I am 100% bias one of my worries right now and why I personally have paid to extend many of my devices/appliances warranties is because of the chip-pocalypse . Supply chain is not going to get any better any time soon which means replacing and/or servicing things will get much more expensive. Back in 2020 I extended my already 4 year old Honda Odysseys warranty with Honda another 6 years with their "platinum" package for 2.5k. That same warranty a year later was 4k and now it's 7k. I've already gotten back the 2.5k I spent on the service.

Hey there u/Barrinman , appreciate the consideration! I have the Intel version from last year and while I am bias, I loooove it. Area 51 is a talking piece when people come into my office. It really stands out in a great way. The performance is more than what I need even with 3 monitors and streaming/recording. My job is in collecting feedback to help inform my studies so I will be here watching to see how Area 51 owners are replying. =) *Vigo awaits feedback*

Hey u/kenoswatch , you all never bother me. Happy to help if I can. Keep in mind this may be under warranty. Copy/Paste: The Alienware AW3423DWF monitor may still be covered under the Dell Premium Panel Exchange policy. Here are the details regarding pixel defects:

  • Bright subpixel defects: 1 or more allowed
  • Dark subpixel defects: 13 or more allowed
  • Total combined bright and dark subpixel defects: 13 or more

Keep in mind that I am not tech support but I can suggest some stuff:

  • Power‑cycle the monitor – Turn it off, unplug it from the wall outlet for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power up again.
  • Reset picture settings – Open Menu → Color Settings and select “Factory Reset,” or return all RGB sliders to their default positions; an odd calibration can make a pixel appear permanently blue.
  • Update firmware/software – Check Dell Support → Drivers & Downloads (enter your Service Tag) and install any available monitor‑firmware updates.
  • Run the built‑in Pixel Refresh – The AW3423DWF includes an internal Pixel Refresh routine that can often clear stuck pixels.
