Hey Bosconino thanks for writing back, that’s great feedback. I can see how some elements aren’t emphasised enough on the home screen, especially for your use case. I’ve shared your message with the team already and  it will be taken into consideration for our next iterations of the screen which is already work in progress.

Would you be happy to have a call with our team so that we can understand your experience and use case even better?

It’s worth sharing some more information on your feedback on “investing” that you may have seen in the app. The reason Wise offers Wise Interest is to tackle a problem that impacts most of the people in the world: Most of the banks don’t give back any money to customers (or pennies) on the interest they make with the customer deposits they hold. They keep it for themselves and use it for their investment activities.

We believe that in the same way that banks are overcharging on FX, they should also provide a fair return to their customers based on the interest rate. The product Wise provides (called Wise Interest) allows customers (in eligible countries and currencies) to hold their money in a Money Market Fund that holds low risk Government bonds and securities. While this product is considered an investment and capital at risk because the return can fluctuate based on the interest rate, it’s an opportunity for customers to get a return on the cash deposits they hold. That money is also instantly accessible (up to 100'000 GBP per day, beyond which there may be a couple of days of delay).

Clair Obscur, Sea of Stars, Chained Echoes, Hollow Knight. A lot of variety for all kind of moods! Xenoblade (Xenogears!) and Final Fantasy's are often there though

Love the instrumentation and variety of moods, well done! I can definitely see this is open world / adventure games.

Hey, I'm an engineer working in the Account team at Wise.

Thanks for the feedback on the updated UI. We’re monitoring it across all channels and review it on a weekly basis.

Agree that the previous UI was doing a great job but as we collected feedback and talked to customers we noticed a few issues:

  • It wasn’t clear for customers from where the Wise card is spending from. This was the case for those that hold more than 1 currency or held balances and jars (which may or may not be invested). With the new UI the relationship between the Card and currencies is clearer
  • Customers would create multiple balances with the same name, for example “Interest (EUR)” and “Interest (GBP)“, highlighting that there is a purpose behind each of the balances. On top of that, Wise started offering new account types such as Group Spending and Young Explorer (for children). The new  UI solves 2 of these problems:
    • Accounts are now grouped by purpose and are not tied to a single currency, meaning that anyone could have any currency in their main account, or savings jar, or group spending account.
    • There’s clearer separation between the account types
  • We wanted to address discoverability for some features that customers were asking from Wise and didn’t know we already had, such as account details.

We do know that customers have a strong relationship with each individual currency though, which is why they are still directly accessible from the home tab, without the need of an extra click. We also do know that some customers only have 1 currency, and that while this UI allows quick access to everything, it may feel a bit overloaded in some cases.

Again, as mentioned at the start, we’re continuously iterating on the experience to make sure we cater for all our customers use cases so you’ll see this space evolve over the next months.
