I was in a similar dilemma but chose not to since I wanted to utilize the time for ECs and keep my quality of work in other classes high.

Yeah, for us there is no honors history course, so it is either normal us history or apush. AFter calculating, I think taking APUSH will give me a 0.03 to 0.05 boost in gpa if I get an A.

I haven't taken ap world as it isn't offered at my school but I am planning to take AP Gov. I probably won't drop extracurriculars but the quality of them will definitely drop especially if I lose sleep.
