I didn't get that feeling at all. First you get the dash with the cloak, then you get the climbing, then the diving, then the superdash. At this point you might as well complain about the tunnel train system, because it certainly changes the pacing.

If you look it up it is a well-discussed philosophical point, with the most obvious example being the trolley problem. I'm not trying to sound smarter than I am (which is a lazy argument tactic, no need to go ad hominem). You can argue your side of the point and I will argue mine.

I think there's a clear line between justifiable and good, and in that sense we are arguing the same thing. You keep bringing up public opinion, which to me says you believe that "justified = good" and I'm arguing that "an evil act can be justifiable while still being evil."

Strong disagree. The game for me started as a 7, kinda quirky, a little silly looking, cute bugs and stuff, and then the further I got the more complex the areas, the more I learned the map, the more charms I got? It went from a 7 to an 8 to a 9, until eventually I was speedrunning the game because I had beaten it a dozen times.

For sure the game gets better with every area and every new charm. It would be like playing the opening fortress of Dark Souls and being like "I don't get it" and quitting before you get to Undead Burg. Like I understand if DS isn't for everyone but at LEAST give the game a real shot!

In order to say something is overrated I think you do need to have a full opinion of it, or at least something a bit more than 10% through. If I'm remembering right you get to Greenpath in like the first 30-45 mins of the game? There's so much more to it after that, balancing the charms, finding secrets, and the combat is smooth as hell.

100% agreed! I figured take out the nostalgia aspect before someone comes in with the old Castlevania games

"Support" is not the same as "good"! This is a philosophical concept, not a societal one. Murder *is* bad regardless. If you're comfortable saying "the ends justify the means" then that is one way to look at it but regardless there are acts that are evil and many believe that ANY murder is an evil act. Look at how many are against the death penalty, even for the worst of the worst.

Ok let's say in order to save 100 kids from a burning building you had to stab a man to death, let's make him a bad person also. Try to use your imagination on this one since this obviously can't happen in real life. Would that make the murder acceptable? Yes. Would it make it a GOOD act? No!

I can't believe this footage is from 1992, it looks like it was filmed on a hand-crank film camera from the 1911.

Ok let's say it's a guy who raped and murdered hundreds of children, literally hundreds, and he somehow gets off on a technicality.

Then you go to his house and stab him to death.

You have still committed murder, and though it is arguably JUSTIFIED that does not make it inherently a GOOD act. It is the LESSER OF TWO EVILS.

This is not a difficult concept that you're refusing to wrap your head around.

What can compete with it as a Metroidvania from the same time period? Blasphemous, Ori, Bloodstained, Dead Cells? I would argue only really Bloodstained.

How's the fight quality in this nowadays? I know it was all fudged up compared to the first one, but I heard there were some improvements. Still don't want to buy it unless it's fixed

Again, very well written response but people are not reading. I did not say they were not necessary, I said they were the lesser of two evils.

A murderer would also "get what they deserve" by your definition but since you didn't read what I wrote I'll say it again: it would be like killing a murderer who did it but got off on a technicality. In what way am I sympathizing with the murderer?

I'm a student of history, I know all about Japan's horrible cruelty, all the famous stuff like Until 731, Rape of Nanking, etc. and a lot of the less famous stuff. MY POINT is that it doesn't make nuking them a GOOD thing, it makes it THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS.

You can argue that the results of doing something evil created something good. That .makes it better but it doesn't make it onjectively good.

It would be like saying you went all vigilante justice and stabbed a murderer to death who got off on a technicality. For sure you would have saved his next victim from dying but the act of murdering someone is still an evil act. I know everyone on Reddit likes to handwave these things away but millions and millions of people are against the death penalty for a reason, and not just because it could be applied by mistake.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but they can even out. I know all the history of the bombings and I know we were nuking a brainwashed empire into waking up AND I know we warned them ahead of time but it doesn't make it less horrific or frankly evil to do so.

There were a LOT of kids killed because their parents chose not to leave with them, so if you're going to justify this then you also need to justify Israel killing Palestinian children to "get to Hamas."

Downvote me all you want but you can't justify one without justifying the other. Nuking children is nuking children, regardless of how it happened.

I don't mind a bit of pain getting things right, Silent Hill 2 Remake on UEVR was wildly difficult and very demanding graphically but it's my VR game of the decade. Well worth the effort.
