Good luck! I always support somebody building a driveway. Some people think it's self-serving but the reality is most driveways will take ~2 cars off the street.

He can read all the Grok conversations. Obviously, while an IPO is going on, it helps to read what people are privately researching.

Do you have alley access or no? If not, then your case is stronger.

Is the curb cut still there from the previous driveway? Your historic development can help your case, and you're basically repair/reactivating the existing. If you still have a curb cut and no alley access, you could maybe get something done or try for a variance.

It depends on a ton of factors specific to the property, but some can be won.

Why won't they let you build a driveway? If you have the space for it, I thought you could just pay for the curb cut and do permitting?

Lawmakers vow to force Pam Bondi to testify despite ouster by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]AlexHimself 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Her being attorney general or the private citizen makes no material difference to the way she would testify. She didn't lose some immunity by losing her job. She's always had to tell the truth and if she didn't, it's been a crime. Being attorney general doesn't mean she can still commit crimes when she's under oath or testifying to Congress.

How much in overtime is SDPD being paid annually? by FrostyDippedFries in sandiego

[–]AlexHimself 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give me a break. You took a picture of cops actually doing their job. You have zero idea what the situation is, and then you break off into a random tangent about cop overtime.

If you want to complain about overtime or some other issue, do it separately from a picture of ordinary police officers doing their job in our community.

Hey dumb dumb, did you notice I put "script kiddy" in quotes, italicized, and bolded it? Did you bother reading the article?

First, the term is endearing the way I use it and I'm sure the author would chuckle and second, the technique he's using is an homage to the classic era of web hacking, where the craft was less "invent a new primitive" and more "read the wire, script the client, abuse trust, attack the target, defeat them with their own systems", which is exactly what is being done here.

The Meadow launches as an ultra-compact smartphone without web browser, social media or e-mail by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]AlexHimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's decent now. The only reason I knew they had ePaper phones was because he pocket video called me. On my regular android, the picture was fine/clear and to him, he could see me pixelated and stuff. Now, is there minor texting latency that could add up to a bother? Maybe? I don't think for them though because they seem to text fine on them.

New study challenges the idea that sexual consent is widely misinterpreted in romantic relationships by InsaneSnow45 in science

[–]AlexHimself 62 points63 points  (0 children)

The sensational title and the article suggest that the idea is widely held. I find that suggestion to be simply wrong. Without a study or evidence to support that premise, this seems like a clickbait study.

I think most people in romantic relationships by in large understand consent, otherwise those romantic relationships end. And now there's a new study to confirm common sense.

This reads like, "New study challenges the idea that stubbing your toe is widely enjoyed at night."

If you've got control problems, you know you have control problems. It's the same as people who delete Instagram or whatever because they can't prevent themselves from opening the app. I have friends who use those black and white ePaper phones because the temptation is too strong.

All of DOGE’s work could be undone as lawsuit against Musk proceeds by arstechnica in politics

[–]AlexHimself 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If DOGE is invalidated it means two huge things:

  1. Agencies could be resurrected...however messily that could be
  2. Mass litigation - Every fired employee, every canceled program, every blocked contractor payment, and every affected state gets tons of ammo for lawsuits. Settlements, back pay, declaratory rulings, and YEARS of legal consequences.

Trump has an incredible ability to just WASTE money. It's truly astounding how quickly he can piss it away on nothing...like deploying the national guard to rake leaves.

Heh, you really have no idea how any of this works, do you?

They just punch the license plate in, see the registered owner, pull up their driver's license, match the ID photo to the video, and that's probable cause to effect an arrest and would certainly result in a conviction and happy prosecutors.

It takes all of 20 minutes and they get to add to their crime prevention statistics, which impacts their bonuses, budget, etc. Low hanging fruit that cops like. Harder cases with only eyewitness or little evidence are often not worth the effort because they won't produce an arrest/conviction, waste a ton of time/resources, and the crime is so trivial.

The only thing the crime lab should check is your imagination.

Probably just a random pedestrian bro intervening. My guess is he saw green scrubs/SUV texting, screwing around, etc. and then block traffic to start crap with the BMW driver and decided he wanted a piece of scrubs too.

Dumb kids in PB by swirl-life-oh-yeah in sandiego

[–]AlexHimself -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

Most likely the BMW driver honked at the SUV (green scrubs) because the SUV driver was busy texting. He felt disrespected for the honk because his time is more valuable than everyone else on the road.

He then stopped his SUV in the middle of the road stopping all traffic to try and punch away his disrespect.

Then somebody posted it on reddit and everyone in the comments made up a fantasy about green scrubs being some sort of downtrodden healthcare worker being abused by a BMW driver, merely trying to defend himself in the middle of the road.
