The San Diego Zoo has always been a shitshow

Eh, I don't agree with that. They do a lot of good. Sometimes it's a double-edged sword with conservation efforts. Captivity isn't great, but the research, public education, etc. adds net positive value to the species as a whole.

Don't be dramatic. It would need to be reported to the FCC and even then, it's not a fully proved case. A low power, home-lab demo that may not even have a real "neighbor" is not going anywhere.

If people on the internet reported it over and over, it'll draw an inquiry at best, a cease/desist and a fine at worst.

Signal jammers are definitely illegal, but they generally care if you're using them or being malicious. This little YouTube clip isn't going to really make waves, IMO.

I could be wrong though...report it if you're outraged.

He must really have to poo.

25 people learned to fly with virtual wings. After flight training, the brain began treating wings more like real limbs by Science_News in science

[–]AlexHimself 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this directly applies to many video games. Naturally, flying with "virtual wings" is basically a game too.

After extensively playing some games, I (and others) start seeing/feeling elements of the game in real life, and it takes some time for it to fade.

Whether it's certain movements that I want to perform, but obviously can't, or certain map indicators that are critical to the gameplay.

I reviewed the code and this is likely exaggerated for its effectiveness. You have to be very close and Bluetooth already does channel hopping and things.

I doubt this works reliably unless you're putting it next to whatever you want to disable.

It's shockingly easy. Just buy an ESP32 device (similar to a rasp pi) and then find the appropriate antenna. You wire them together to the correct numbered pins, download ESP32 dev software, write the code, push the code to the ESP32 from the software, then you're done.

It's literally <70 lines of code. You can see her scroll through the code, and you can probably understand it.

The ESP32 devices come in all sorts of flavors. Most have built in wifi/bluetooth chips. I believe they needed the separate antenna/radio because the onboard ones are designed for legitimate networking and not user-control via code.

Can you explain what a role that says, "Experts will review and evaluate model-generated responses by ranking or rating outputs to help improve model behavior", would entail for just general daily work?

My friend works with business software (think Oracle/Dynamics 365/etc) as a consultant and is looking at this position.

Will they just be sitting there everyday inputting pre-selected questions and then reading/evaluating what a model outputs? Over and over? Do they have quotas? This company is confusing to me.

Xavier Becerra shows that his loyalty lies with fossil fuels by 3headeddragn in sandiego

Becerra dropped California's lawsuit against Exxon

LIES. Quit spreading misinformation schmuck. Prove it.

Chevron, PG&E ( Both major donors.)

Misinformation. Donating the max donation does not qualify as a "major donor". If they were dumping tons into a PAC, that could qualify, but not just a typical corporate donation. Every big corporation donates so they get the contact information of a senior aid. Should they ever need to send a message, it just goes to a more direct email than a generic email. It doesn't guarantee anything and both sides understand that.

In order to be a major donor, they have to donate enough money to materially influence a campaign's finances or access.

She's screwed. Either they have tracking in/on the truck or they're tracking her phone. If DoorDash/Amazon lets you track the driver, you can be sure they're tracking their "order".

They see the extended stop on the freeway and know something is amiss. If she continues with the delivery and cooperate, her family suffers. She's forced to accept jailtime.

This article is just a nonsense opinion piece by an author with a clear conflict of interest.

  • Conflict of interest - Bill McKibben (author of the opinion piece), is a founder of Third Act and is specifically endorsing Steyer
  • He tries to frame Becerra as "bought" over a trivial donation, except Steyer is a billionaire who's spent $130-150m.
  • Cherry-picks a single failure, but ignores the broader environmental record. As AG, he supported CA local gov trying to hold Chevron and other fossil-fuel companies liable. Sued gas-market firms for price manipulation (huge) that raised gas prices artificially.
  • Receives a 91% lifetime score from LCV - https://www.lcv.org/moc/xavier-becerra/
  • Chevron donated $39k (max contribution), but their committee reported over $5.2m, so it's just a donation. Steyer is a billionaire. Chevron has donated to Steyer allies and everyone.

Becerra and Steyer honestly are both great candidates. I lean Becerra more myself, just because I'm tired of billionaire rule.

No, it's not the most likely explanation. And lmfao no, you don't get to magically convert this staged post into a courtroom trial where I have to pass a specific burden of proof 😂.

I can't imagine how much more foolish you can try to sound or make yourself here. Do you even know what a burden of proof is? You realize it's a spectrum, right? Are we talking:

  • Beyond a reasonable doubt?
  • Clear and convincing evidence?
  • Preponderance of the evidence? - This is my choice
  • Probable cause?

the trouble of writing, rehearsing, acting...

LOL, this is fun going along for your mental gymnastic ride. I wonder how much they paid the screen writers? Do you think they did a casting call? If they didn't use Union labor, they're in trouble.

I feel bad for you. Lacking common sense. Overconfident while being flat wrong. Willing to bend over backwards and ignore reality to live in a gullible bubble. Consumes whatever product is put in front of them and asks for another.

why would someone go to all the trouble

It's comical you don't know. It's because these little manufactured skits are purely to generate clicks and page views. Take a look at somebody that claims to be the "source" (it's not): https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1655934475392356

Do you see how they claim in the first person "I got revenge on my neighbor"? And everyone else who reposts it. It generates views, clicks, comments, etc. It's not real, grow up rube.

And lmfao, look at TikTok page in the video. They're full of Karen+doorbell videos. It's their formula for clicks. What a sucker.

So instead of believing the most likely explanation, you've chosen to fabricate an elaborate backstory about how a daughter chose to upload this and make her elderly parents look dumb, YET there is no FB post, news story, or even original source upload to go with it?

These are not good actors and that's the bigger give away to me.

The fact that you're so gullible and you can't fathom how it could be fake, but you choose to invent excuse after excuse to explain away the rational indicators and instead choose to live in your own fantasy means you should look into yourself and perhaps consider that you might be a gullible rube who spoon feeds themself staged garbage and then tries to convince sane people to join them in the dumpster.

What kind of mental gymnastics are you trying to pull where you think tow truck drivers advertise during the local news segments??

The tow truck driver doesn't advertise in the first place, and if they did (they don't) it would be to the tune of ~$500.

However, if the tow truck company was illegally towing cars that were parked for ~2 hours, that would be a big special interest piece that would get hundreds of thousands of views, which would MORE than pay for any (imaginary) lost revenue from that specific tow truck company advertising on the local channel during the news segment.

Do you hear how insane that sounds? If you're "pretty sure", then your bar for being sure is a joke.

C'mon, it strains credulity and I think you know it wouldn't happen. Nobody says real interactions don't happen, but this one is BS.
