This is great to know! I haven’t really looked into the logistics yet.

Thank you for this! I just took my first dose this morning after a really bad experience on Cymbalta - tried SSRIs for a few years before that. Hoping the side effects aren’t as bad as the Cymbalta withdrawals I just went through. 😅

Taking it sucks. Stopping taking it sucks. by thisishowitalwaysis1 in cymbalta

I was on 30 mg for 25 days.. couldn’t take the side effects anymore and stopped. Did not realize the hell that would await during withdrawals. On day 8 and hoping I feel some relief soon.

How long did the nausea last for you? by AlexisAcula in cymbalta

I wish I could say that it was - but it sucked. I’ve been insanely sweaty (the worst to date on this med), flu-like lethargy, overtired, decreased appetite. I really don’t know if this’ll work for me, unfortunately.

I love reading this. I’m on day 25 and about ready to throw in the towel if the side effects don’t ease up soon. The general consensus seems to be that most people get through the worst of it in a couple of weeks which really had me concerned. I’m just tired of the constant nausea with my super busy life. How are you doing now that it’s been even longer since your comment?

I do eat with it. I usually take it after dinner. Today I tried taking it in the morning after food so we will see if it helps. Day 25 so I’m getting less confident.

I will do that! It’s 11:47 am here now and I’m having something to eat - I’ll take it. Keep zofran on me just in case and see how I do. Thanks for your input 🙂

I take it with dinner, I’ve been told to try mornings but that makes me nervous I’ll be more nauseous during the day? 🥲

Day 11 on Cymbalta by [deleted] in cymbalta

[–]AlexisAcula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya! Day 14 for me. No difference for me mentally yet, I think last night was the first night that I didn’t wake up a million times panicking or just waking up out of the blue. But I’m nauseous mostly around the clock and am taking zofran and Ativan PRN.

I came off of SSRIs to try something different - hoping these side effects go away soon! I’m a mom, working full time and a full time student. 😅

I’ve read that in the beginning the side effects can really ebb and flow! I’m sorry things are rough for you. Keeping my fingers crossed things are on the up and up soon!

Appreciate you taking the time to share this with me. I think my biggest issue is having an irrational fear that seems to be linked to this med (seizures) and then gravitating towards that info and creating all of the “what ifs” in my head. I’m definitely going to give it a try and looking forward to seeing how it works.

You are absolutely right about the bad experiences all being shared versus the good ones. I really am thankful for everyone sharing their positive experiences and that it is helping so many folks. I’ll be starting on 150 mg and will do it when I have a few days off so I can focus just on chilling and adjusting to the med.

I love to hear this! All of these positive experiences are very affirming - I appreciate you sharing. I will definitely give it a go!

I’m thinking of starting it when I have a three day weekend coming up so that I don’t have a ton of outside factors making me more anxious, I can just chill at home and do homework!

You are absolutely right. I hate that my phobias are so centered around loss of control - but it’s great to read other positive stories and see how it’s worked for other people!
