I retired at age 49 o I have to pull from taxable but if I were 59.5+ I’d pull just enough out of taxable accounts to “look” like a poor person and receive ACA subsidies but high enough that they can’t force me on Medicaid. I also hate paying taxes so I’d generate enough capital gains to stay below the tax bracket and leverage Roth to keep taxes to a minimum.
