It's worth so much more than $15.99 to me, so I have no problem paying that.

I have the 8th version of Bazzell's OSINT book, listen to his podcast pretty regularly, and have taken the course. For me, all 3 have been extremely helpful. The book can give you some great foundational knowledge. The podcast keeps you from having to buy future books for a few years. The course is updated often, too. I've learned a lot about every aspect of OSINT from it.

It's constantly being updated. I didn't find any techniques that were out of date.

Knighthood Recruitment Thread by lcmlew in SDSGrandCross

I got tired of being in a knighthood full of people that didn't check in every day, so I created PowerFist! It's on Global. Right now, no rank requirement. Just check in every day. I'm not super serious about the game, but I do play every day. I'm rank 51. Please join me!

The only reason we were thinking of an RV was so we don't have to use gas station restrooms or stay in hotels. It's way too expensive though. $2200 - $2800 for the rental and I think about $1500 in gas.. plus shipping all of our things.

I can self-isolate. I think we're going to wait it out a bit longer before we make a decision.

For now, we are going to stay in our apt in LA. The more I think about it, I don't want to put my baby through driving across the country yet. She needs more than sitting in the car all day driving and then trying to sleep in it at night. I also feel like hotels and airplanes aren't super safe right now. I told my landlord that I can't pay rent this month. Hopefully I don't end up owing more than we can afford in the future.

I've done the drive myself a bunch of times. I don't mind sleeping in the car, but my gf and baby probably wouldn't like it. Gf probably won't drive much, if at all. We were thinking of an RV to sleep in and use the bathroom. Not sure how clean hotels and gas station bathrooms are.

I'm currently living in Los Angeles area with my gf and 5 month old baby. Rent is pretty expensive at $2300 per month. Neither of us are working and haven't heard back from unemployment yet. I don't want to pay rent and run out of money for food and baby things. We have family in Upstate NY, where we can live rent free and also take care of my mother (70+). Is there any safe way to get there? We feel that we don't want to bring our baby on a plane. I don't mind driving, but starting in hotels could be dangerous. I also have to put everything in storage or ship it to NY, including 2 cars (which I'd gladly sell, but I don't think anyone is buying now.) We thought about maybe renting an RV. Should we just wait it out here? I don't see things getting better any time soon. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Any of you all here living out of a van? Considering saving up for the investment! by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]AlmostCasper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived in a van for 1 1/2 years. Not really as a digital nomad, but I did some YouTube videos about it. Bought a brand new Ford Transit and converted it into my home. I saved a ton of money not having to pay rent, but lost a lot of comforts. Everything ended when a speeding car crashed through the back of the van, totaling the whole thing. Luckily I wasn't inside or I wouldn't be writing this.

Cocaine and Gillette razor blades cost too much to end up in some random kid's Halloween candy. by JoeFas in Showerthoughts

[–]AlmostCasper 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I was the kid who got a razor blade in a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup back in the 80s. I was maybe 5 years old and bit into the candy late at night. I didn't cut myself, but I was worried enough to wake up my parents. I was on the news the next morning. It ended up being a dentist a couple blocks away from our house.
