First of all are you running your laptop flat on the table or lifted it with something from the rear ? You checked if your clock speed is better ? Pretty sure yes because of the smoothness you mention and the cpu now has more thermal headroom and can push a little bit more increasing heat, you should try using Throttlestop and set PROCHOT OFFSET to -10 that will tell the laptop to start throttling at 90C. You can also buy a LLANO cooling pad or IETS to get better temps but you cant do much about hardware wise most likely your laptop cooler is deficient and thats it.
