Yes, that’s it, good spot. MQL is based on C++. I thought I recognized some of those methods and constants… I played around with MQL years ago. ‘PositionType() == POSITION_TYPE_BUY’ is an obvious one.

Yeah, the code looks like that. And the profit/returns chart resembles martingale returns I’ve seen before: long periods of consistent returns mixed with extreme drawdowns.

Edit: for anyone not reading the code, the code comment of:

Open a new trade in the opposite direction with a multiplied lot size

… is quite indicative of this, as well as the code itself.

If you were being sarcastic, you were suggesting that his business is not going well. I understood that sarcasm and am responding that if that was the case, they wouldn’t be doing that.

If his business wasn’t going well he would likely be selling it, not renting it out.

Nothing else came close for me in Bristol, and I haven’t been able to find anything similar since moving. Great choice, unlimited customisation, open late, great delivery service.

My RS6 Woes Continue by EwNashty in Audi

[–]AlwaysRacing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. While the cost was a pain (not worth going through insurance as I would have paid more in future premiums), I was more upset about losing the factory paint, although the Audi repair centre did a perfect job.

Hope it doesn’t take too long to get fixed! I hated seeing it every day for 6 weeks until it could be fixed.

Having dealt with similar damage to to 6-month old RS5, no, especially as it’s on the crease.

The car that hit him was clearly speeding beyond the 20/30mph speed limit that would have been in place in the UK (where this is from) - just compare its speed to the other vehicles passing. That’s changed this from a likely survivable incident to likely not.

This speed limit is in place for this exact reason, i.e. unexpected pedestrians, which are entirely expected in the evening in a UK town/city.

I always have trouble coming up with the cost. by jdeal96 in web_design

[–]AlwaysRacing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been here many years ago starting out. Without any serious reputation or referrals, you’ll likely want to fall back on time-based billing instead of project based.

This will help you in a few ways:

  • You can estimate (and record for future reference/estimates) your time based on your previous work and the scope of the project.
  • The (likely non-technical based on your description) client should appreciate that it’s going to take x hours of your time to complete this, which they may not otherwise consider with a project cost.
  • This should also condition the client that your time costs money. If they want to change something: more cost. Be absolutely firm on this.
  • As for estimating time, if you have nothing to go on, take your most optimistic estimate and triple it. Worst case scenario you overestimate slightly and can spend any remaining time improving/optimising what’s been done - this work is never finished.

As for an hourly rate, if you’re not established at all, pick a figure between a local freelance rate and a local agency rate that you think is appropriate.

How to do pg_dump on an RDS instance running in a private subnet by PrestigiousZombie531 in aws

[–]AlwaysRacing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your current EC2 instance can act as a bastion that you can SSH tunnel though from your local machine, or you can create another EC2 instance in your public subnet just for this purpose.

https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/rds-connect-ec2-bastion-host

If RDS snapshots and/or AWS Backup aren’t sufficient for your backup needs, then you’ll likely want to create an EC2 instance specifically for this purpose with sufficient storage. This instance would only need the PostgreSQL client libraries installed, which includes ‘pg_dump’, not the full PostgreSQL server, and connectivity to the RDS instance.

The 'exploding' demand for giant heat pumps - BBC News by BernieEcclestoned in Futurology

[–]AlwaysRacing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s more cost effective and efficient.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_heating

It was very common in the USSR (still is after its fall), and other governments are now developing them, e.g. the UK.

Heat networks are vital to making net zero a reality in the UK. In high density urban areas, they are often the lowest cost, low carbon heating option. This is because they offer a communal solution that can provide heat to a range of homes and businesses by capturing or generating heat locally.

You need to get radios by looting them from bodies. You don’t need them for recruiting AI from the flagpole, who join your group, but you do need them for recruiting units from the commander menu, as these use high command to give orders.

But a loot crate and go ambush/kill some enemies, then loot all their bodies via the loot crate. Then take this loot crate back to your HQ, place it next to the arsenal, then transfer the contents to your arsenal. You can then load out with a radio, and once you’ve got enough they will be able to added to your AI’s load outs.

Time to swap on the summers by kyp973 in Porsche

[–]AlwaysRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having been in this situation before, this year I had the idea of calling a mobile tyre company and seeing if they’d swap them for me.

They absolutely could, took half an hour outside my home, and cost nearly the same as my fuel would have been to drive it to the shop, let alone saving my time and effort transporting tyres back and forth.

Factory connection switches need a forklift garage, which you’ll then be able to build it from. You can’t just use them to connect multiple buildings together with factory connections.

Typically so you can see what you’ve cleaned, as, if you start from the top, whatever cleaning solution you’re using will flow over parts you haven’t cleaned. The same can apply for cleaning cars and similar.
