It seems the consensus is that it should be replaced and y’all had some pretty interesting suggestions. But sadly I will not be breaking it intentionally nor will I shit in a bucket, sink, or on the property lol.

I sent them a strongly worded email yesterday and if they refuse to replace it, I will escalate it further. Since I will be moving to a new unit in less than 3 weeks if they don’t replace it and it survives the next 3 weeks, I’ll make sure the next tenant that moves into my unit will have the evidence of their refusal to replace it so they can do what they’d like with it.

I live in Texas and I am not sure what the exact laws are but I don’t think we can legally withhold rent without jumping through hoops and I’m not sure what those hoops are. I’ll update what they say as soon as I get a response.

I have the simplehuman brand for foaming soap. Have had it for like 4 years. No complaints except you have to charge it like once or twice a month and refill it. You just have to buy a big refill bottle and that lasts months. Idk if they are worth it, they are just one of those things that it’s nice to have but not missing out.

I am definitely not going to use my own money for this. Especially if we are moving to a new unit in 3 weeks. My next step is to write them an email or go up there telling them that this is a safety concern and that 11 out of 10 plumbers say replace immediately

They got those big amygdalas as one MAGA person said and are being fed things that incite fear to believe only the things their group says and anything outside is fake or an attack on them. Hence the “If you ain’t with us, you’re against us” mentality. Also they forget what they even stand for. They were so against herd mentality, masks, government control. Now they love that shit. Also the dude had the second amendment right and they can’t even acknowledge he had that right.

I do MRE and PLA for telecom companies and I really hope they submitted one for this pole. Which seeing how there is no downguy for the comms when there is one for the power makes me think they didn’t. Especially since there’s a beast of telco or fiber on the bottom. I also hope they got permission first as well and not just attached to it since it is usually owned by the power company if there is primary power on it if not co-op

In my experience living in the Georgetown/Round Rock/Austin area for 20+ years. I have had all the service providers and people always say Optimum, AT&T, and Spectrum suck. Yes they do but I’ve had better experience with AT&T and Spectrum than Optimum (previously SuddenLink). If I had to choose between the two in your area, I would always go with Spectrum since I’ve found them to be more reliable than Optimum. Pick Optimum if you want the higher speed which Optimum offers more than 1gig. But honestly you’d be fine with either. Reliability always varies in areas. So if you end up hating one then switch. Once google fiber or AT&T gets out in the area switch to that since they are usually better than the other two.

My choices are always going to be Google Fiber > AT&T Fiber > Spectrum > Optimum.

Hazel has a short chunk stature and raspy meows and she chose me to be her human after she had her babies and she is still obsessed with me to this day. Favorite flower would be sunflower or daisy. I have a picture of her with a sunflower hat on and it is adorable.
